How Times Change

There she is

With her growing

Circle of friends

How once it was

Just the two of us

Inseparable together

Since grammar school

It was always

Just me and her

But now

She has her friends

And I have my boyfriend

My heart pains

When I hear her laughter

Knowing well that she is not

With me

We used to be

So open together

But now she has secrets

That I cannot see

She seems so

Different now

Than what she was before

No longer the

Young girl

That I grew up with before

I would be lying

If I said I was not

Happy for my friend

How did we get here

How did the times change

How did we change

It seemed that we

Grew further away

When sailor moon existed

But how could that

Connect with

Our friendship

If sailor moon

Never came

Would we still be close

The times change

And so do we

The answers I may never know
