Here's to Eternity

I stood solemnly staring at the place where the Earth meets the Sky,

The sky reaching down to embrace the immovable Earth with his words,

And breathing new life into the horizon.

The shadows around me offered tissue and agreed that yes indeed it was a natural wonder!

They don't see what I see

They don't know how the pain eats at me,

the pain from knowing that I can never have such a beautiful thing.

I turned from false prophet to false lover thinking that somehow and someway I could bury myself in another world

but that is all they were... a fiction, a satire, a meaningless representation of what I believed life should be.

On the day I opened that blue box, brushing aside the breasts of that grinning harpy on its front I thought it was just another chapter in my meaningless quest for nothing. But it wasn't...

"Everquest," it was a whisper on the wind at that time. It was everything that I needed the world to be... people I could come to know and like who shared interest in the same things as I. I found myself pursuing new goals with great rapacity that had actual meaning to me! Then I met you...

I stepped onto the sandy beach of Kerra Isle and saw you in your cheap flowing black robe. Already I knew that there was going to be something different about you... your spirit a scintillating luminosity. Like two Angels of the Night you both extended tendrils of pure love into every crevice of the darkness of my mind. And still there was something odd.... I felt warmth in my heart... a tugging... a gentle pull at first when I saw you. It grew in strength every day since then....

And then my light went out... my Angel had left me... the only one who knew and loved... actually loved the real me.

The feeling was still there even though you were not. "I am in love with your soul" I said... and you reciprocate. The compassion, the lust, and the love that I feel for you at this moment are indescribable to me... it defies all logical thought.

I want to embrace you and never stop... my support, my anchor in spite of the storm around me, my fingers entwined in the maelstrom of gold falling about your shoulders. In my mind we float together like this always... two souls side by side like ghosts in this cruel ocean... shunning the evil waves in search for the truth to our existence. You caress my face and my world shudders... my lips meet yours in the dream and life explodes with a new color all around me. My hands on your chest I feel the steady rhythm of my heart in yours. My life... your life intertwined. It is my dream I see... here's to eternity XXXX... I wouldn't have it any other way. I looked up at the place where the Earth met the Sky... and I smiled.
