Submission Rules:
Please make sure you read these rules for submitting before you submit. Thank you.
*First and foremost, we will only be reviewing Sailor Moon fanfics. You may submit crossovers, but the main characters must be from Sailor Moon.
*You may only send in 1 fanfic each time you apply. Anymore then that, we can't handle right now, since it is only me and Sharon on the reviewing team. But if you want another fanfic of yours reviewed, wait until were done with the present fanfic were working on, and as soon as were done you can submit again!
*Your fanfic/fanfics must be completed. For us to really be able to review your fanfic well, we need the entire story. If you want your fanfic reviewed and its only half done, you may submit it and we'll review it, but we probably won't grade it(scroll down for grading scale). You need to tell us though when you submit it that its only partially completed.
*Your fanfics must be posted somewhere that has a URL. Some of you may have your own site, for you this is no problem. There are also others who have there fanfics posted on someone else's site, so these people are fine too. But for those of you who might want to submit that don't have them posted anywhere on a server, you need to find one then! If you don't want to post it on someone's site, then post it at Fanfiction.net. Go to our links page to go there and post your fanfic, then come back and submit it.
*As soon as you've submitted, you must link us. Save one of our buttons to your harddrive and link back to our URL. This is like a little thank you for us. The link must be somewhere visible and it must work as well. This rule only applies to site owners.
*Once you've submitted, you must wait for us to respond to you. We don't want to find tons of E-Mails from you guys asking when the review will be done, or people who are just impatient and are even rude about it. A good review takes time! The average time you should have to wait is 2-3 weeks, and this may be only because were extremely busy. Please remember to be patient!
*If you are not satisfied with your review for whatever reason, please don't flame us. We do the best we can and hope only to help you become better. If your review really bothered you that much, you may submit it to be re-reviewed after one week and after you've fixed whatever was wrong(we will tell you what we found wrong). Be considerate and please don't be mean. We have feelings too!
Grading Scale:
This the grading scale we will be using, its simple and neat. Its on a scale of 5/5.
1-Needs Some Major Work
2-Nice, but needs more work
3-Your getting there, needs a little work
4-Very good, your almost there!
5-Excellent! Best we've read!
Reasons You May Have Scored Low: Your story may have had a good plotline behind it, but there may have been terrible spelling, use of grammar, and wrong writing format. Or you may have had great spelling and all that, but the story itself wasn't interesting, it was confusing and we easily lost interest.
Reasons You May Have Scored High: Your story was, overall, very good and the spelling and all that was very well done. Basically, your story met everything that we look for.
**To avoid recieving a low score, read what we look for below carefully, then look over your fanfic one more time before submitting it.**
What We Look For:
Originality: Is your fanfic unique, or is it just like every other story? Or do I have the strange feeling I've read this story somewhere else before? Its important that your ideas come from you. Its ok if you have taken the underlying story line from somewhere(examples: episodes from SM, tv shows, movies, etc.), but its not ok if you completely copy the story. I've read fanfics that were from an SM episode, but were changed around and turned out to be very good. This is what I mean by originality. As long as your writing and not someone else, then its original.
Plotline: Very important! We always look for plotlines that have been thought out, planned out, and where you can see time and effort put in. If your story keeps changing scenes and situations every second, then this confuses the reader and makes them wonder whats going on. Make sure you stick to what your writing.
Characters: The characters in a fanfic should always be introduced and described well. By this I mean you should tell the reader what they look like(ex:hair, eyes, body type) and any other information you could list in a first meeting, or even as the fanfic progresses. Some characters are meant to remain a mystery, so for these characters you would explain as little as possible, keeping the mystery around them. The identity of a character is important and should be explained as best as you can. Make sure to keep a characters identity consistent, meaning keep them as they are. Do not go changing them every second.
Spelling: The story itself is important, but its not complete without the correct spelling. If a story is so full of spelling errors that one can't read it, this creates a problem. The reader grows both frustrated and angry and loses interest. The one thing a writer should always remember is to keep the readers interest.
Use of Grammar: The use of grammar is also important. There are hundreds od slang phrases out there, but not everyone knows them. So, keeping this in mind, a writer should keep the use of slang phrases to a minimum and if it is used, to explain its meaning somewhere in the story. That way you don't lose your reader.
Writing Format: Any writer should know the correct writing format for a story(come on we learn it in English people! ) and should always keep the format consistent. For those of you scratching your head, this means that every time someone new speaks, a new paragraph begins. Some people have there stories set up looking like one entire paragraph. This is confusing to a reader and very annoying. If you are a site owner who has a problem with this, then I suggest fixing your fanfic before submitting it.
*Remember to follow the last three, we rate not just by plotline, but also by the look and feel.
