Meeting

*He ate all of that! * Shima exclaimed.
Derrian hid a laugh behind a cough. The small DesertWinds elf was sitting cross-legged on the
kitchen table. She had just watched Kento finish off his third cheeseburger and almost an entire bag of
fries. The young girl had to sit on her hands to stop from reaching out to snag the four-finger hand that
reached for Kento. * Stop it! * she commanded silently.
Shima pulled backed and glanced over at Derrian. * He eats more than my brother Kumo does. I bet
he could eat an entire Sand Cobra by himself. *
     * If you had a bottle of ketchup, * Derrian replied with a smile.
     "What's so funny?" Ryo asked.
Both Shima and Derrian glanced over at the dark headed teen, in surprise. * Oops! * Shima said
with a grin. * Forgot they were here . . . so tell them what's funny, * She challenged, barely controlling
her laughter.
Derrian glared at the elf but then turned her attention to the teen who had spoken. "I just got the
punch-line to a joke I heard earlier. Are you finally finished, Kento?"
The burly teen nodded his head. "Dinner was great, Der . . . I think I'll go catch some TV downtime
now."
"Not yet," Sage said stopping the Kento from leaving the room. "First we have to go train and let
you shed some of those calories you just put on."
Kento sighed and looked over at Derrian. He then turned sideways and patted his armored belly.
"Tell me the truth, Derrian . . . does this armor make me look fat?"
Shima fell over laughing and as she did her foot knocked over an empty glass. Rowen quick reflexes
snagged the cup before it slipped over the edge. "Quit rocking the table," he accused Sai.
The smaller Ronin pulled back his arms. "Didn't touch it, swear."
"Well, glasses just don't fall over by themselves," Rowen challenged.
Derrian snagged the glass from Rowen's hand. "We've already lost enough glassware due to you
armor powered boys. I rocked the table when I stood up. No harm done . . . why don't you fellows go
and use that energy beating the heck out of yourselves, while I do the dishes."
"You cooked," Sai told her standing. "Kento and I will clean up."
"Kento and I . . . when did you start speaking for me, shrimp?" Kento growled.
"Since I bested you out in the courtyard today, three out of five times." Sai replied with a grin.
"Come on, it will only take us a few minutes."
Shima was still laughing as the duo picked up the some dishes and walked into the kitchen, still
arguing.
"You're not getting out of training that easy," Sage said following. "The rest of us will help and then
we can all go outside before it gets dark."
The others sighed their agreements and gathered up the remaining dishes.
Derrian motioned for Shima to follow her into the living room and flopped down on the sofa. *You
should be more careful, * she scolded
Shima shrugged. * What's the worse they can do? Think they are crazy as you?*
Derrian tossed a pillow at the elf.
