Location: Rome Senshi: Graikos Apollo Knight of Music Name: Hovan Thy Meaning: Hovan- God's Gift Thy- Poetry Age: 23 Birthdate: January 1st Astrological Sign: Capricorn Blood Type: O- (RH+) Family: Mother- Hanna Thy: Hanna is a gorgeous blond haired blue eyed beauty, one of the many reasons Hovan's father fell for her but not the main reason. Before she met Terrance she worked as a tour guide, giving descriptions and history of different sites and museums her tour groups passed. She was...not impressed with Terrance when she first met him due to the fact he continuously corrected her dates but later warmed up to the persistent man who ultimately became her husband. Though she doesn't hold a job now due to her children and enjoying the life of a housewife she is the backbone of her family. The calm collected member who made sure everything was in order from, making sure the bills were paid to getting the children where they were to be if they had activities outside of the home. Father- Terrance Thy: Terrance is a handsome man very dashing in appearance and in movement, however, it's when this red headed hazel eyed man opens his mouth is when many people either love him or hate him. His love for his archeological job takes him around the world, though there are many times he would stop in France to take in the sights as any European citizen would. The only problem was the woman giving the tour was giving out the wrong dates, so what he corrected her a few times...didn't give her the right to yell at him at the end of the tour. A few days later he returned to the tour groups office to apologize and ask her out to lunch, she immediately refused. Terrance still felt bad about making her look foolish and after much pestering and three thrown paper weights later...he won her over. Nearly two years later the two were married and Terrance calmed his travels down to home research so he could stay home with his growing family. Sister- Claribel Thy: The first born of the Thy Family, she's a spitting image of her mother, long blonde hair, bright blue eyes and a figure to die for. However, her mind and mouth are like her father, speaking her mind before thinking of what she's saying. Unfortunately, her mouth has gotten her into many different troubles over her life. Though she hates to admit it now, she once hated her little brother, since she was seven at the time he was born she was at an age she wanted her parents undivided attention and due to the birth of this bouncing baby boy...she wasn't getting that attention. It took years for her to finally warm up to the young boy who soon became a beautiful young man, easily rivaling her own. Her protectiveness of him also grew, especially after his senior year in high school before he went to college, her love for him and want to protect him engulfing her. School/Occupation: Graduate from Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland. Currently a composer of many harp pieces well known throughout Europe and much of the Eastern coast of the US. Skills: Problem Solving- When Hovan was younger, around the age of seven his father taught him how to play chess. It didn't take him long to learn how to play, but it took him two years to build his own voice in the game. Every night after the age of ten he made it a routine to challenge a member of his family to a chess game, ones with his father could easily last three hours, but every single game he's won hands down. Even after he's moved out and out of school, he uses a computer program to continue his love of chess, which has easily heightened his problem solving skills, to think three steps ahead. Speed Reading- His parents wanted the best for him and once he'd learned to read his parents got him into classes of speed reading. Though it promised to have their child reading faster in only a few days it took him about five months to begin showing results, however the results were not just in reading books but also in reading music. Fast Learner- Hovan has the ability to duplicate actions and jobs he's seen or done only a few times. For example, when he got a summer job during his sophomore year he was shown how to care for animals, feeding, grooming, and even limited training. After being shown, over a period of three days, how to perform the jobs he was able to do them without supervision, performing them in near perfect duplication of what his supervisor had shown him. Likes: The Sea- After moving out of his parents home and finished college Hovan made it a routine to visit the sea ever weekend. At the end of each week he'd pack up and travel to the Mediterranean Sea and spend the entire weekend there. The smell of the ocean, the cool breeze, and warm updrafts Lirit loved to glide on were the perfect company for the young man. Flying- Hovan's pet Raven, (guardian) Lirit, is his very best friend and everyday Hovan allows him to fly over Rome. At that time Hovan will sit on his balcony and watch the white bird fly up and over the buildings, but he'd always come back into view to reassure Hovan he was allright. Hovan's love of flying has always been with him and seeing Lirit so free, without the aid of machines to aid him, is all he needs to give him a thrill for life. Dislikes: Darkness- The darkness terrifies Hovan, ever since the incident at the end of his senior year of high school. He can't be in a room or sleep anywhere without a small light to give him the reassurance he is safe. Many times at night Claribel would awaken to Hovan's screams of fear of him weeping whispering for the darkness to go away, for it not to hurt him. Fav. Food: Seafood and all vegetables Hated Food: All meats Fav. Subject: Music and Vocal Composition Hated Subject: none Color: Silver and white Hobbies: Archery- Hovan began archery many years ago and was shocked to find he was a natural. His instructor was impressed and made Hovan promise he'd continue to hon his skills over the years. Though he does not go to the range as often as his instructor would like him to he still goes to practice at least a few times a month, however, he mainly only goes to relax and think about problems he has in his life. Singing- Though his voice is not as skilled as his fingers, he gives it a workout as needed. His mother always loved his voice, commenting his was that of an angel, so clear and string, yet soft and soothing at the same time. His is known across Europe for his music composition in the harp but he is known equally in music composition and vocal music in the eastern coast of the US. When he attended college he did earn a degree in the field of vocal music, however, it is not his passion, where music composition is. Aspirations: Hovan wants nothing more then to be a world renowned composer of music, as famous as his favorite composers Bach and Beethoven. Even though he is 'tainted' he wants nothing more then to find a man who will love him for who is and what he's been through. Gemstone: Diamond History Hovan was born in Athens, Greece at exactly midnight on January first of the new year. His sister at the time was about seven and when the bouncing baby boy was brought home the jealousy emerged. Many a time she wished to get her mothers' attention and yet she would find her playing with the baby, changing his diaper or feeding him, Claribel never got a chance to get her mother to herself. At this time their father was still traveling on digs but he would soon tone it down to only being out of the house a week a month instead of two to three weeks a month. When Hovan turned five his father brought him home a present from his latest dig. Terrance had seen his son's love for music grow over the years and wanted nothing more then to feed that small love into a raging inferno of passion towards music. The main reason was because of his son's fingers, they were unusually long and slender for a boy his age and thankfully Hovan would grow into them. On Hovan's fifth birthday Terrance returned from a dig with a present, that present was an ancient artifact he'd found near Apollo's temple in Delphi, a lyre. Hovan was full of wonder towards the item until his father explained what it was. The favorite instrument of the Greek god Apollo, though it was incredibly old, his father was actually impressed the instrument had held up for so long, though it did not have the strings it would have had and was cracked in many places. Hovan immediately fell in love with the item and treated it much like a child would their baby blanket. Unfortunately, Hovan's mother, Hanna, did not take too kindly to the 'filthy' item being in her baby boy's possession and many times tried to take it away but was always intercepted by her son. Claribel, at this time, had begun to warm up to Hovan and instead of showing a dislike for the boy she began to show a protectiveness towards him. One day, Hovan was getting a graham cracker from his big sister, who was fourteen at the time, and while he was gone his mother took the lyre to be rid of the old instrument. When Hovan returned to find his lyre gone he began to bawl, but Hanna refused to give the old instrument back...however, after two hours of hearing and seeing her son crying for the instrument she gave in and gave it back to him, never attempting to take it away again. Two years later, Hovan was to take something to school for show and tell. As was expected he took his lyre to show off and tell everyone about it. He was so proud of the object and of his father for getting it for him on his fifth birthday. Around lunch time he placed his lyre in his cubby but when he returned it was gone. He panicked, begging his teacher to help him look for the instrument yet no one in the class had it. At the end of the day he found the top curled end of his lyre, but he never found the rest of his precious lyre. That day, he returned him crying, his sister was the only one home since their mother was out shopping and their father was out on a dig. She immediately consoled her little brother and took the broken lyre telling him everything would be allright. Exactly two weeks later Hovan had his eighth birth day. His parents and sister gave him wonderful gifts, many gifts leaning him more towards music. That night, when he went to bed, he found a small box under his pillow, a note on it told him the gift was from Claribel. Opening it, he found a thick silver choker with his broken lyre hanging from it and from that day forth, he's never removed the choker from his neck. Hovan's life was more beautiful then he could ask for. He'd begun dating when he was around fourteen and that's when he found out he had a preference for men instead of women. Moving up from one grade to the next, accomplishing many goals that would lead him to becoming a great composer. His first and only boyfriend broke up with him since Hovan didn't want to move their relationship to a physical one. Excelling in playing his harp and lyre in the music classes he would take all throughout high school. Many colleges and universities of music across the globe were begging Hovan to attend their schools, due to young prodigies skills in music. At the end of his senior year in high school he was on cloud nine, he was to play a solo harp composition for his musical finale in high school. All he ever wanted was to graduate from high school and attend a college that would aid him in furthering his musical skills. However, at the end of his solo, there was only one thing he could ask for. Mercy... Hovan had finished his harp solo and had received a standing ovation, many cheering for him to perform and encore but he had to refuse. His family was incredibly proud of the young prodigy and had planned on taking him out to dinner. After the concert they agreed to meet him at home and head out to the restaurant after he returned home. After his family left for home he went to load his harp into the back of his car. It was dark out, that's when a man a few years older then him approached him. Hovan greeted him and they spoke of the concert before he returned to strapping down his harp. A sharp blow to the back of the head made Hovan black out, but he awakened only a few moments later to the terrible pain of the man raping him. Hovan screamed, cried, and begged but the man only knocked him out with a back handed slap across his face, leaving the young man unconscious on the ground. Hovan's family had become terribly worried when Hovan didn't answer his cellphone and Claribel volunteered to go out and find him. Upon reaching the school she found her little brother on the ground unconscious and bleeding. She immediately rushed him to the hospital where Hovan was to spend three weeks to recover from the damage that had been done to his body. Two months after the attack Hovan's father contacted the school his son had chosen to attend and spoke personally to the dean, making the woman swear to keep an eye on his son while he was there. Terrance didn't want to let his son out of his sight but knew even after the humiliation and pain of what had happened to him, it would not kill his dream to play music. Hovan's four years at Sibelius Academy were truly a learning experience that threw his love for music even higher, in the end leaving with a degree in Performance and Vocal Music and a degree in Composition and Music Theory. After his graduation Hovan did not return home, instead he moved to Rome, Italy where he has a small comfortable house where he can continue his musical dream. Personality Hovan was a carefree, loving young man who loved to talk and get to know people. As a child he was incredibly talkative, which many times got him into trouble. His energy was another 'problem' to his poor mother who had to put up with the boy literally bouncing off the walls. Now, don't get her wrong, Hanna loved her son but he had the tendency to drive her up the wall. It wasn't until Terrance brought home Hovan's first chess set. Once Hovan learned to play the game, his energy was finally being directed into something positive that he could use his mind towards. As he grew, his love for music did as well. His love for perfection in his own works drove him to practice everyday, nearly three to four hours a day after school. His first instrument was a harp, silver in color and taller then his 5'3" height it was an instrument he'd immediately fallen in love with the sound of the stringed instrument. As his skill in playing the harp improved he then moved up to the smaller string instrument of the lyre. Adding this new step in his development began to calm him down even further. With the help of playing his instruments and the thinking he put into chess that exercised his problem solving skills began to direct his energy into more positive actions. Hovan was young when he figured out his preference for men, yes he found women attractive but not in that way and his parents accepted him fully. After Hovan was attacked his personality took a complete 180 degree turn. His mother and father were incredibly distraught, but the change hurt his sister even more. They'd once been the best of friends, spending hours at a time together. They talked and solved problems that were affecting them and their family together, but now he was very distance, hurting deep inside where she couldn't. His talkativeness died down to none, for the two months he stayed at home before attending Sibelius Academy he barely spoke to anyone, even when he attended the school he spoke to no one except who he had to until he had graduated and moved out. Appearance Hovan is a beautiful creature, his most striking features are his hair and eyes. His hair is a mixture of sun gold and platinum silver, giving it a striking complexion. His locks are thick, long, and silky nearly down to his knees and is usually tied back in a low neck ponytail by a silver ribbon his mother gave to him. However, when he plays his instruments his hair is braided back and held back by that same silver ribbon. Though his hair is straight the bangs that frame his face trail down to his chin and fall in thick gentle curls. Now...let's just say no one knows where he got his eyes, his mother's eyes are blue, his father's are hazel. However, Hovan's eyes are a bright silver-gray and even though no one knows where his eye color came from, they are perfect for him. Hovan's build is very slender, long and yet built, so as not to give him an appearance of being under weight, though...at his 5'3" height he only weights 115 soaking weight. He has a very slender face, almost as feminine as his body structure. His high cheekbones easily show off his large innocent eyes and pert little nose and mouth. Ever since he was a small child Hovan has always had very slender hands and long slender fingers. His father was a bit worried at first but was relieved to see his son grow into his hands, giving his hands a very feminine appearance. Though he plays the harp and lyre every single day, he keep from acquiring calluses on his fingers tips by wearing plastic tips at the end of his fingers, keeping the pads of his fingers smooth and unblemished by calluses or blisters. His body had once been completely unblemished by scars, until his senior year when he was attacked, now a thin scar decorates his slender throat down to his collarbone and a group of five scars surround his abused anus. Fuku Hovan's uniform is very different and consists of two main colors, white and silver. Starting from the top, his long golden platinum hair is braided back, the silver ribbon braided into his thick golden locks. Around his throat is the same thick silver choker that has decorated his throat for years. His top is a pure white half vest decorated by silver laurel leaves that shows off his flat toned stomach. His pants consist of white harem pants with silver laurel leaves trimming the waistband that hangs off his shapely hips and around his slender ankles. Last but not least are his shoes, delicate white slippers with one large laurel leaf on the top of each slipper. At the end of each of his fingers is a silver pick that he uses to play his lyre. Transformation Hovan lifts both arms to the sun and calls out, "Apollo Deus Power, Make Up!" As the last word slips from his lips his fingers touch the broke lyre that hangs from his throat it glows a brilliant silver light before growing into a silver lyre, the perfect replica of Apollo's lyre. Holding the lyre to his chest he raises his hand and the silver picks appear on his hand before he brings them down and gently rakes his fingers across the strings. Immediately, a bright white light erupts from the lyre surrounding his body, burning away his clothing and reclothing him in his uniform. The light even takes the time to braid his long hair, the silver ribbon bringing out the gold of his hair before the light fades and leaves him standing in pilates stance. Turning to his opponent he simply bows low, his eyes never leaving them as he softly says. "Apollo Knight, at your service." Powers Oracle Lullaby: Holding the lyre to his chest he begins to play a classic child's lullaby, his favorite being 'Rock a Bye Baby'. As he plays he sings the words, his voice clear and true and when he end he runs his fingers over the strings and a small ray of light emerges from the lyre to touch whoever is not a part of the Graikos, instantly putting them to sleep. This attack has to ability to put all of his enemies into a deep sleep. However, if he stops playing or even makes the smallest mistake in his playing the sleep is broken. Can only be used once since as time goes by it drains his energy. Laurel Dance: Holding the lyre close to his chest he slowly begins to play a very low almost mourning song. The ground begins to shake and Laurel trees grow around each enemy around him. As long as he continues to play without making any errors on his lyre the trees will dance blocking the enemy's attacks. However, as with Oracle Lullaby, if he ceases his playing or makes an error the trees will recede. This attack can be performed several times before he becomes too tired to continue. Guardian Lirit is a pure white Raven with bright blue eyes. Explanation Apollo is the twin brother of the Greek goddess of the Hunt, Artemis. Their mother Leto had been hounded by Hera when she tried to give birth to her children and was finally able to birth Apollo on the island of Delphi which became his special island. Apollo has many myths around him but the most famous are his birth and his love for a young nymph who was changed into a Laurel tree to escape him. Due to this along with the Raven, who had served Apollo faithfully when it was white, the lyre, and the sun, Laurel leaves became one of the many items art portrays him with. Writing Sample Claribel sighed as she paced back and forth. What the heck was taking him so long, it had been over forty-five minutes since they'd returned home from the shcool. They'd been waiting for Hovan that long and he still hadn't shown up. Her mother had called his cellphone four times and each time she received his answering machine. "What's taking him so long," she groaned as he parents sat on the couch talking quietly. Her mother immediately looked up. "Don't worry, I'm sure he was only talked into playing another piece for the crowd. You saw how much they loved him," she said trying to reassure herself as much as her daughter. After a few moment she sighed in decision and snatched up her keys and headed out the door. "My phone's on," she called back out of habit before locking to door and getting into her car. A loud screech rang through the air as she tore around the corner. Mentally, she was trying to stay calm, telling herself over and over that Hovan was fine. mom was probably right, he was probably back inside the auditorium playing a piece from Beethoven and getting another standing ovation for a perfect performance. Pulling into the school's parking lot she slowly drove around back where Hovan had told them he had parked. As the back of the building came into view she saw his small black car parked near the back of the school. The sun had long since set and it was dark, not so dark you couldn't see, but dark enough to give her the willies. Parking beside the passengers side of her little brother's car. Getting out she immediately noticing the back driver's side door open. "Hovan?" she said looking around but received no answer. Walking around the front of the car she called again. "Hovan? Hovan, are you out he...Hovan!!!" she screamed. There on the ground next to the open door was her brother lying face down on the asphalt. His jeans were pulled down around his ankles and his rear was covered in blood as were his thighs. Running over she slammed the door shut and knelt beside him gently pulling his pants up, but not closing them as she rolled him onto his back. "Hovan...Hovan, oh god, are you ok?" she whispered, her voice terrified. Hovan couldn't answer since he was still unconscious and since she didn't know if his attacker was still around she quickly carried/dragged Hovan to her car. Opening the back door she helped him inside, lying his face down and buckling him in before shutting the door and running to the drivers side and jumping in. Starting up the car she tore out of the parking lot and onto the main street speeding towards the nearest hospital. Snatching up her cellphone she dialed as she made a sharp turn. "Hello?" her father answered, his voice trying to hide the worry he was feeling. "Dad, get to the Athens Medical Center...Hovan's been hurt," she said. "What?! What happened? Is he ok?" he demanded. She then heard her mother in the background asking what was going on. "Please, dad!" she yelled. "Just get to the hospital, I'm almost there so I'll see you in the waiting room," she said before hanging up the phone and tossing it into her purse. Looking into her rearview mirror she looked at her little brother, noticing his face showed nothing but pain and fear. Coming to an abrupt stop she threw the car into park and jumped out running into the hospital yelling for someone to help her brother. It only took a few moments for a doctor and three nurses to rush out with a gurney and wheel Hovan into the Emergency Room. Ten minutes after Hovan had been taken into the back their mother and father arrived. Claribel fell into her father's arms crying and he immediately held her away shaking her gently. "Claribel, Claribel, what happened?" he asked, trying to remain calm. Taking a deep breath she tried to talk. "I...I found him...in the parking lot. His legs...they were covered in blood..." she whispered, crying out the last part. "He was raped." Terrance flinched and shook his head. "What...that...that can't be..." he whispered. As his wife fell into a chair crying a doctor came out. "Mr. Thy?" he asked softly. Terrance nodded numbly as his wife stood clutching her husband's arm. "I'm sorry, sir. Your son was unfortunately raped and the skin around the area has been badly torn. We've stitched him up and at this point he is awake but we can't let you see him until the pain killers have taken affect." The doctor didn't have to continue, the family understood and sat back in the small group of chair, waiting their chance to see the gentlest member of their small family.
