Sailing on "Manta"
What I'm looking for:

Someone(s) to join me for 2-6 weeks of a 6-week cruise to the Bahamas beginning in June 2005.

Experience needed:

I enjoy teaching sailing and require no previous expereince.  However, an ability to rough it a bit and live in close quarters with others is essential.

The Boat:

Manta is a 1981, Telstar Trimaran (8M).   She is 26-feet LOA, fast and roomy for a boat her size. Most living is in the main saloon which has 6-foot standing headroom The V-birth has been converted to a roomy head and storage area.  She is basically equipped with CD player/stereo, autopilot, depth, VHF,  ice box, etc.
Me in the Bahamas on my previous boat:   Wings.

About me:

I've been having people crew with me in the Bahamas, Florida and Great Lakes on my previous boat for about the past 8 years.   I enjoy teaching, am fairly laid back and definately not the Captain Bly type.  I can easily solo Manta, so there is not much pressure on crew.  I've been teaching a sailing class yearly for the past 6 years or so.
Original interior of Telstar 8M.   Mine has just been modified.  The galley is now aft to port by the companionway and the starboard berth has been lengthened.

The Bahamas.

Easily accessible from Florida, the Bahamas are an excellent choice for someone with no or limited cruising expereince.  I tend to prefer anchoring out, snorkeling and finding hidden places to marinas and bigger towns.

Cost/expectations:

I expect crew to help with the day to day operations of the boat and contribute towards food, fuel and water.   Count on about $15-20/day plus what ever you may wish for meals & drinks ashore, souveniers, etc.
