“What was that? I don’t think so! It really is like a video game
I’ve played!” Gavin
said infuriated, “I don’t know what star coins are though.”
“I think its money used in Star Street,” Marlene answered.
“All right whatever let’s just keep going,” Kara said.
Meanwhile, in Caitlin’s group, they have just received their
first battle too. There
were two enemies, one looked like a tree with long branches at the
top of its head and the
other one was an evil red eyed rabbit.
“Solar Eclipse!” shouted Chloe as she pointed her ring towards
the red eyed rabbit.
There went the rabbit.
“Whoa! Did you see that? I nailed it in one shot!” said Chloe
bragging away.
“Beginner’s luck!” Mackenzie yelled back.
“What did you say? Oh I guess you can’t compete as well as a
girl!” Chloe
announced.
“What was that?! I can compete ten times better than any girl!”
screamed
Mackenzie.
“Then prove it big mouth,” Chloe said.
“Please stop you two,” said Caitlin peacefully.
“Flare Bomb!” Mackenzie said furiously. Unfortunately, he missed.
How
embarrassing!
“Don’t you say anything!” Mackenzie shouted to Chloe.
Chloe of course, couldn’t help but laugh. She was laughing
so hard she was
rolling on the ground. Mackenzie gave her a dirty look.
“I didn’t say anything, did I?” Chloe said to Neil but Neil ignored
her.
The tree with long branches at the top of its head must have
heard enough because
he ran away from the battle. The kids earned 42 star coins and
256 (EXP)!
“Still think you can compete ten times better than any girl,
Mackenzie?” Chloe
asked.
Mackenzie said nothing but he thinks he’s starting to develop
feelings for Chloe.
“Are you kidding? Of course I can do better than any girl.
I just missed on
purpose so you wouldn’t look bad,” Mackenzie answered.
“Yeah sure,” Chloe said sarcastically.
Eventually after having many brutal battles each has come together
in front of
HER castle.
“Hey it has been a while Gavin,” Neil said.
“Yeah I guess so,” said Gavin.
“Now I guess we have to fight Cyclone,” Marlene said.
“Wait a minute. Who is that over there causing trouble
with Cyclone?” asked
Mackenzie loud enough for the girl to hear.
“What. You mean me?” asked the girl.
“Yeah, you! Who do you think you are messing with dangerous
enemies?! Let us
handle it,” exclaimed Chloe.
“You?! A bunch of amateurs handle him?! You must be joking,”
the girl said more
surprised than ever.
“Us? A bunch of amateurs?! Listen, you’re what eight years
old and you’re calling
us amateurs. You must not know who we are,” Chloe angrily.
“We are . . . The Nightmare Chasers!” said the seven kids.
“Age and big names don’t matter. Talent is what I have
and I know you really
need it. You’re definitely not qualified enough to face Cyclone,”
said the girl.
“And you would know something like this because?” questioned
Mackenzie.
“I am an archer. I travel around all worlds and fight off
any evil lurking there. I
am a real professional. How long have you been fighting? One
day?” asked the girl, “Me?
I’ve been fighting since I was five.”
“Umm what’s your name, and where are you from, Earth?” Neil asked.
“Well I was born on Earth and I’ve lived on Mars, Saturn, Neptune,
you name it I
was there,” said the girl, “My name is Abby and you guessed wrong I’m
ten years old.”
“So you don’t need our help fighting Cyclone?” asked Kara.
“If you want to help you can turn around and go home. I
can handle this,”
answered Abby.
“Oh really? Mind if we watch?” asked Caitlin.
“You can watch but don’t bother me. I know you need to
watch me and gain
some talent so, watch closely.” replied Abby.
The kids watched in amazement as Abby tried her hardest to fight
the enemies.
She was very talented just like she said. In a few minutes she
defeated the gang of
Cyclone.
“You destroyed my army but can you handle me?” Cyclone questioned,
“Are you
really good enough?”
“Of course I’m good enough,” Abby quickly responded.
“Oh yeah? Spike Saw!” shouted Cyclone. The spike on the top of
his head flew of
towards Abby.
Abby tried to block the shot but it was too late! It hit
her and she went flying
backwards into Neil.
Abby got up and stumbled she almost fell. Then she got
out an arrow, held against
the bow, aimed it at Cyclone, and fired. It was a perfect hit!
It went right through his
heart. It demolished him in one blow. She then fell to
the ground. She was bleeding.
“Healing Waves!” called Caitlin as Abby was on the ground
bleeding to death.
“Why are you guys helping me? I was so rude to you.
I thought you guys would
have left me here to die,” said Abby.
“How can you say that! We would never be so cruel to leave
someone dying,”
Marlene said sympathetically.
“You were pretty mean to us.” said Chloe.
“Chloe!” Marlene shouted.
“No, that’s ok I deserve that. I’ve been treated pretty
badly my whole life so don’t
worry about it,” Abby said as she started to cry, “I don’t have any
friends. I live by
myself. I just do as I please.”
“What about your parents?” Gavin questioned.
“I ran away from home when I was four because they wouldn’t let
me be a fighter
when I grew up. ‘You’re too young and its too dangerous!’ they
would say. Now I roam
the galaxy saving people and planets. Its a lonely job but someone’s
got to do it,”
answered Abby.
“Don’t you have any relatives to take you in and let you do what
you want?” asked
Kara.
“No not really. By the way what are you guys’ names?” asked Abby.
“I’m Gavin this is Chloe, Kara, Marlene, Caitlin, Neil, and Mackenzie,”
Gavin said
as he pointed them out.
“Well, I better get going. Thanks for your help,” Abby said as
she pushed
Mackenzie aside and started down a path.
“Wait! Why don’t you come with us? We may
need your fighting skills and you
haven’t saved this place from HER yet,”
Mackenzie said.
“Yeah!” everyone shouted.
“Really? I guess, but why are you acting so nice?” Abby questioned
wiping the
tears from her eyes.
“We’re not acting. We’re your friends!” said Caitlin.
