Chapter 3: Mr. and Mrs. Mouse

“Where is Henry’s house?” asked Gavin.
“Umm . . maybe we should ask someone,” said Mackenzie.
“Like who?  They all probably know we’re out of prison.  If anyone found us
they’d turn us in,” commented Marlene.
“We should of thought about this before we broke out.  Right MACKENZIE!”
said Chloe.
“Sorry. Does everyone have to rub it in?” asked Mackenzie.
“We should go back and help Sly because he might know where Henry lives,”
Kara said.
“No, it would be too risky if we got caught,” Marlene said.
“Did I here someone say they were looking for Henry?” said a weird looking mole.
 “Who are you?” asked Caitlin.
“My name is Mr. Mole.  My friends call me Bob,” said the mole.
“Do you know where Henry the mouse lives, Bob?” asked Kara.
“Why yes.  Yes I do,” said Bob.
“Where does he live?” asked Gavin.
“I can take you there but it’ll cost ya,” said Bob.
“I have five dollars,” said Chloe.
 “Five what?” asked Bob.
 “You know.  Money,” said Chloe.
“Oh, you’re outsiders, huh.  Well, I guess this ones on me,” Bob said, “Get in this
hole and follow me,”
“With all this dirt?  Gross,” said Kara.
“Just do what he says, Kara,” said Caitlin.
A short time later after crawling on rocks they arrived at Henry’s house.
“Finally!  Neil weighs a ton,” said Gavin.
“I heard that!” said Neil with a groan.
“Should we just go in?’ asked Mackenzie.
“You are not very bright are you Mackenzie?  We knock first,” said Chloe.
“Hey, would you quit insulting me?!” said Mackenzie.
“Knock it off you two,” said Marlene.
Gavin walked up to the door and knocked.  A huge girl mouse answered the door.
 “Yes?” she said.
“Umm.  Does a Henry Mouse live here?” asked Gavin.
“Yes, he does.  Please come in,” said the mouse.
All six of the kids went in.  Neil was still on Gavin’s back.
“Oh, my!  Is that poor boy injured?” asked the mouse.
“Speaking of injured people, my hand is cut,” Mackenzie said pushing Neil aside,
“oh yeah, this boy Neil, is very sick.”
“He can lie down over there on that bed.  I’ll fix your hand up over here,” said the
mouse.
“By the way can you tell us your name ma’am?” asked Gavin.
“My name is Gertrude,” said the mouse.
“My name is Gavin and my friends names are Marlene, Chloe, Caitlin, Kara,
Mackenzie, and Neil,” said Gavin as he pointed them out.
“Why are you seven looking for my husband?” asked Gertrude.
“We have a lot of questions that need to be answered,” said Marlene.
“Well, you came to the right place!  My husband will do his best,” Gertrude said.
