The Sailor Starlights, as you may have already guessed, are a little different from the rest of the Sailor Senshi. Their arrival changes the view of the Sailor Senshi, as up to now we all assumed that the Senshi of the Solar System were the only Sailor Senshi in existence (this is touched on more in the manga than in the anime.
Anyways, it all starts when Minako announces that there is a new idol group called Three Lights. That very same day the gang goes to see them film a tv show at a nearby park, and Usagi wanders off and runs into a guy who teases her about her odangos and is surprised that she has no clue who he is. Usagi later learns that his name is Seiya, and that he is a member of the Three Lights. The Three Lights transfer to Usagi's school, and they become pretty close with the group. Most of the complications in the series arise when they find out that they are really the Sailor Starlights, and Yaten and Taiki are upset about Seiya's relationship with Usagi, who he has by this time fallen in love with.
Most people kinda go "eew..." when they see the Sailor Starlights, because they are both guys and girls. U have to understand that their true form is female, but they are disguising as guys in order to attract their princess, who they came to earth looking for. |
