| One of the things that sets anime characters apart are their voice actors, or Seiyuu. The first time I heard Sakamoto Chika's voice, as Yaten in Sailormoon, I was hooked. Its beautiful, unique, and has this wonderful quality to it that I can't even begin to describe. Ever since I have been searching for as many of her songs and roles in animes as possible, just to get another opportunity to hear her amazing voice. This shrine is a dedication to her and her work. Stats Name: Sakamoto Chinatsu (the kanji can actually be pronounced "natsu" or "ka"... I have seen her referred to as both) DOB: August 17, 1959 in Tokyo Blood Type: B Height: 156 cm (about 5'1 for us Americans) Weight: 49 kg (about 107 lbs) Works For: Arts Vision Her career has involved a wide variety of characters, only a few of which I've seen. She tends to do gender-bender type roles (which I think her voice is perfect for), but she has many other types of roles too. I, sadly, have only seen a few of these, but I want to see more!! | Anime: Sailormoon (SuperS Movie) Role: Peruru Ahh!! He's soo cute!! Peruru is a fairy who's supposed to be finding energy for the Black Dream Hole, but falls in love with Chibiusa and decides to work for the good guys instead. This is actually the first role I saw Chika-sama as, but it was also my first time watching something in Japanese, so it was like "ooh, they're all speaking in Japanese..." and I didn't get a good chance to listen to her voice. (That's ok, I've watched the movie about a billion times since then!) |

| Anime: Sailormoon Sailor Stars Role: Yaten Kou/Sailor Star Healer This is the first time I really got a good chance to listen to her voice, and I fell in love with it. Yaten is one of those layered characters who acts cruel on the outside, but on the inside is caring and sensitive. One of those characters that, given the wrong voice, will seem totally ridiculous, especially when changing back and forth from a boy to a girl. But of course, she does it! |

| Anime: Tonari no Totoro (My Neighbor Totoro) Role: Mei Mei is the younger sister of the main character, Satsuki. She's basically one of those cute, loveable little kids, and always sticks close to her sister. |

| Anime: Fushigi Yugi Role: Nuriko This is probably my favorite of Chika-sama's roles. It's another one of those roles that requires just the right voice, and she pulls it off perfectly. Nuriko is one of the Seven warriors of Suzaku. His symbol, on the left part of his chest, means willow, and his power is superhuman strength. He dresses like a girl and is quite gay, but he also hides a tragic past. He is in love with Hotohori, but later confesses that he also loves Miaka. |

| Anime: Fushigi Yugi Role: Houki Houki is the wife who is eventually chosen by Hotohori, and coincidentally she looks quite similar to Nuriko. Houki is mature and insightful, and is very helpful to everyone she meets. Her and Hotohori deeply love each other. Although I am sad to say I still haven't seen the series, the most I saw of her was in the Eikou Den ova, and the contrast between Nuriko and Houki confirmed for me just how talented Sakamoto-sama is. |
