War

You fight your war,
Your bloody battle
You lose your life, your honor
  And see if I care
But before you go, look one last time into my eyes
And see the death that has already arisen
The death you caused and the death I live with.
One last moment; make it right
And learn from past sins
Don't kiss your family if you shall never return to them
Don't shatter your home on a whim
Or a worthless fight
Don't die over something that you don't even believe in.
And most of all don't leave the life you love behind.
So you go, fight your darkness and thrive in the blood
But don't come home to me and expect to find the same existence.
For war not only changes the solider,
It changes those who are left behind..
