The series, consisting of thirteen episodes, starts in Dr. Komyoji's (kom-ee-o-ji) lab. There, he is creating an AI, Jiro (jee-ro), to stop the evil Professor Gill and shut down his lab, DARK. But complications between the two men arise... and Jiro is off on his own. Dr. Komyoji's daughter, Mitsuko (meets-ko) and her brother Masaru (muh-sa-du). Mitsuko finds her father's disk with all of Jiro's programming and design on it. She realizes that his conscience, known as GEMINI, is not complete, and he is able to take good orders, as well as bad orders. Mitsuko decides that the only way to keep Jiro from destroying things and people is to destroy him. They get into an argument and Jiro leaves. Mitsuko and Masaru go to find a detective to help. His name is Hanpei Hattori, and with the help of his quirky assistant, Etsuko, they try to find Jiro. They find him many times, but everytime, he escapes. Mitsuko finds her father's diary, which explains about the mysteries behind her mother's disappearance, and the death of her stepbrother, Ichiro. After Mitsuko is told her father is still alive, she, Jiro, and Masaru all begin looking for a clue to find Dr. Komyoji. They accidentally run into her mother, Chigusa. Both anger and love are mixed inside Mitsuko and Masaru, especially when she tells them she was a spy for Professor Gill. Mitsuko finds the blue prints to Jiro's Conscience Circuit, and discovers that GEMINI has the ability to evolve on its own. But Jiro is being controlled by Saburo's evil whistles and begins destroying the city. He goes to the ruins of Dr. Komyoji's lab, seeking salvation, but Saburo appears again and they fight. Interestingly enough, Dr. Komyoji's brain has been transplanted into Saburo's head while his body is being preserved at the DARK lab. One of Jiro's arms is destroyed by Hakaider, and he allows Mitsuko to fix it and from this, their feelings for each other deepen even more. However, afraid to lose his feelings for Mitsuko, Jiro refuses to have his GEMINI fixed. Later, Dr. Komyoji takes over Hakaider's mind and helps to get into the DARK lab. Professor Gill tries to control Jiro with his flute, but Jiro's GEMINI is so close to a human's that the sound has no effect. Jiro stands bravely to destroy evil once and for all to protect the ones he cares for. Wow, that was a total spoiler... hehehe...
