Ami appeared on the screen. "Rei, where have you been? We've been trying to get ahold of you for the last hour."
"I'm sorry..." Rei began.
"Nevermind, we need your help. Something's attacking us. We..." Serena screamed in the background and the screen went blank, but Rei could still hear. "Hold on Sailor Moon!" shouted Ami. "Mercury Star Power!" Then, the communicator died in Rei's hands. She leapt from the couch and flew out the door. What hadn't she felt it before? The dark energy from the vision radiated and pulsed all around. The vision flashed through her mind once more, and she transformed on the run.
Across town, Kumi sat looking out the window. The green tea in her hands had grown cold a while ago. She watched the darkness roll in, and felt the energy of the other scouts as they tried to fight it off. She knew that she should be out there helping, but she was taking the advice of her guardian for once. Cicero had told her to stay put until she got back with the information she had gone to find. Just as she thought this, Cicero ran in and sprang up onto the window sill.
"What did you find out?"
"Her name is Tama." answered Cicero. "Three thoudand years ago Queen Serenity's mother and the Negaforce formed a temporary alliance to stop the darkness that threatened both their worlds. They combined their powers to banish Tama and her brother Yukio to Pylea because the queen couldn't decipher the ancient texts in enough time to save the Earth."
"How did she escape?" questioned Kumi
"I don't know." admited Cicero.
Kumi turned to her. "How do we stop her? Do we send her back to Pylea?"
At this Cicero smiled. "No. Fortunately for us, the queen had the foresight to have the ancient texts deciphered. They tell us how to destroy her."
"How?"
Cicero lost her smile. "There's a slight problem. Most of the texts are written confusingly but, I have figured out that you cannot use the silver crystal against her, because she can absorbe the energy and become stronger."
"Well, what do the texts say?" pressured Kumi.
"They say that to destroy the darkness you must use the weapon of evil life."
"What's that supposed to mean? Life is good, not evil." pondered Kumi.
"I don't know, Kumi," answered Cicero, "but I do know that Ami is out there right now, and you should get going. Maybe Mercury can figure it out."
That was all Kumi needed to hear. "Arctic Ice Power!" she shouted. In a flash she was in her senshi uniform. "Frozen Wind Teleportation." She disappeared in a fury of snowflakes.
On the edge of the city, Arctic reappeared. The scene in front of her wasn't encouraging. All of the scouts were standing protectively around Sailor Moon. Tama was laughing at them all. Her brother ukio was at her side, his hand on the hilt of his sword. Mercury shivered at the sudden chill in the air. Her eyes snapped to a hill in the distance and met with Arctic's. Arctic took off at full speed heading for the scouts.
Sailor Moon was tired of messing around. She gathered her energy and summoned the crystal. Arctic saw what was happening. "No! Stop!" Sailor Moon finally noticed Arctic and allowed the crystal to disappear. Arctic finally reached the scouts and hastily explained the situation.
"So what are we going to do?" asked Jupiter.
"I have an idea that'll buy us enough time for Ami to figure out what the texts mean. I'll slowly giv my energy to all of you. It will give you enough to hold off Tama." With that she backed up and closed her eyes. She began to glow with a soft aura, and her eyes snapped open. "Now!" she shouted. The scouts renewed their assault. It wasn't long before Tama realized that something was up.
She turned to her brother in confusion. "What's going on? We've been at at this for over an hour, but they aren't losing any energy."
Yukio waved aside her remark. "They didn't seem to be this strong until after she got here." He nodded in Arctic's direction.
"Yesss." Hissed Tama, "Go get her, Yukio."
"With pleasure." He disappeared from his sister, and appeared again behind Arctic. "Aren't you just the sneaky little brat." Arctic's eyes shot open in surprise. "Well lets see how long you can help them after this." Yukio drew his sword and charged. Arctic turned, but was too late to block the attack. Yukio's sword plunged into Arctic's side. She gasped in pain. Yukio smiled evily and tore his sword out of Arctic. She clutched at the wound. Yukio once again disappeared and rejoined his sister.
"Good Work, Yukio."
He sneared,"That was too easy."
Arctic turned to the battlefield. "Sailor Moon." she choked out. Sailor Moon turned at her name.
"Arctic what happened?!" Arctic was standing with her hands on her side. The blood had already soaked her bodysuit and gloves. Now, the crimson fluid was seeping through her fingers.
"Yukio." she muttered as she collapsed. Sailor Moon rushed to Arctic's side, Mercury, seeing that Arctic was down, was in hot pursuit. Tama used the opportunity. She sent a huge blast of energy at Sailor Moon. Mercury ducked from the oncoming attack and shouted out a warning to Sailor Moon. Out of nowhere a rose collided with the beam, both disentigrated.
Sailor Moon reached Arctic and pressed on her hands. "What happened?"
"Yukio...snuck up behind me." she whispered, "I didn't get a chance to defend myself." Sudenly, Kiyoshi appeared, Mercury with him, and pulled Arctic into his arms. He took over applying pressure to her hands.
Arctic smiled at him, "Looks like the senshi of life has fallen."
"Wait a minute," started Mercury. She looked from Arctic to Yukio. He still had his sword in his hand, Arctic's blood still fresh on its blade. "Of course. The weapon of evil life." Mercury saw the look of confusion on Moon's face and explained. "The weapon is the sword." She pointed at Yukio. "He is the evil that possesses the sword, and Arctic is the life. Arctic's bloof is the key! We have to get the sword from Yukio." Now Moon understood.
"Then lets go." She charged to the front of the battlefield and shouted up to Yukio. "Hey Yukio why don't you come down here and face us, or are you too afraid?"
"Afraid of you? Ha." replied Yukio.
"Then why are you hiding behind your sister?"
Yukio's eyes flashed anger. He charged Sailor Moon. "I hide from noone!" The other scouts figured out what Moon was trying to do and immediately stepped in to help, but Mercury stopped them.
"She has to do this on her own."
Moon faced Yukio head on, and as soon as he got within range..."Moon Tiara Magic!" Sailor Moos's tiara flew at Yukio knocking the sword from his hands.
"Sailor Moon!" shouted Mercury. Moon turned. "Get the sword!" Sailor Moon took off, Yukio not far behind. She reached it first. A pure white light lit the area. When it disappeared, Moon was standing with the sword over her head. Her outfit had changed. She was wearing a sparkling white short and top set. Her gloves now had a gold band at the top. Her boots were also white with a gold band at the top. Moon lowered the sword and pointed the blade at Yukio. Suddenly, Yukio screamed and was sucked into the blade completing the prophecy. The weapon of evil life was in Princess Serena's possession.
Back at Arctic's side, Kiyoshi pressed harder on her hands. They had to stop the bleeding. Suddenly, Arctic began breathing really hard and fast. "Oh...my...God..." she got out between breaths.
"What is it?" asked Kiyoshi.
Arctic was staring off into space. "The princess."
Without a word, Princess Serena charged Tama. Tama sent another shot of dark energy at the princess, but a shield of purity protected her. She reached Tama, flipped over her head and plunged the sword backwards. Tama screamed in pain as the sword entered her back. She began to melt away, and the sword along with her. With one final screamshe was gone. Sailor Moon's outfit changed back to her uniform. She turned and looked at her scouts and smiled, they cheered and went to heu their friend, leader, and princess.
At Arctic's side there was no celebration, however. Arctic smiled, closed her eyes and whispered "It's over, we've won." She drew her last breath, then passed away in silence.
Later, in the arctic, Kiyoshi placed Arctic's lifeless body inside the ice coffin that she had lain in for a thousand years, waitin for him to be reborn. What he could not know was that at that moment Arctic was watching him. Her spirit placed a gentle kiss on his cheek, and whispered "Don't worry Kiyoshi. I'll find my way back to you."
