The Manga Story
Mistress 9 has long, long black hair and looks like her girl at the right. No matter how much she cuts her hair, it just keeps growing. She is only in about five manga acts. Mistress 9 is the one who brings Pharoh 90 the power to devour the Earth. They plan to make it their homeworld by engulfing the Earth in the Tau System.
In the manga, Mistress 9 first appears in manga act number 27. She takes over the body of Hotaru Tomo, and steals Chibiusa's Silver Imperiun Crystal, thus taking away her soul and leaving her body to die. The Senshi keep her body alive while they try to get back the Crystal from Mistress 9.
Mistress 9 is next seen talking to her Master Pharoh 90. She shows him the Silver Imperium Crystal and compares it with the Tairon Crystal. Mistress 9 keeps thinking she hears a voice inside of herself, like someone breathing through her. The voice is Hotaru, who is still alive inside of her. Mistres 9 thinks she has nothing to fear as long as she has the Silver Imperium Crystal, and she swallows as the Senshi destroy the Tairon Crystal.
Mistress 9 can feel the power building inside of her as soon as she swallows it, and begins to give it to Pharoh 90. Hotaru tries to stop Mistres 9 from doing this, though, by taking back her body from Mistress 9. Hotaru vows to save Chibiusa, and ends up weakening the power of the Silver Imperium Crystal. Mistress 9 begins to break out of her body by becoming like a daimon. She absorbs all of the Senshi's attacks, making her and Pharoh 90 stronger.
It all comes to an end, though, when Hotaru finally takes control again. Sailor Saturn awakens to guide the world to destruction... and send Pharoh 90 and Mistress 9 back into nothingness.
Mistress 9 is pretty much the same in both the anime and manga. She looks like the girl at the right, and appears in episode number 123. She is the person who possessed Hotaru Tomo after the Death Busters enslaved her father. After swallowing the Heart Crystal of Chibiusa, she transformed from the body of Hotaru into what you see at the right.
Mistress 9 is around for 3 episodes (123, 124 and 125). In episode 123, she appears after swallowing Chibiusa's Heart Crystal. In 124, her and Professer Tomo continue their plans for resurecting Pharoh 90. They constucted a machine that will raise him when the Holy Grail is put into it. While Mistress 9 puts up a barrier around Infinity Acadamy, she has trouble holding onto the body she has possessed. Soon, though, the soul of Hotaru dies within her.
When Sailor Moon, Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune finnally reach the large room, they find Mistress 9 sitting on the throne. She tells them that Hotaru is dead, and then uses her long, long hair to reach out and strangle Sailor Uranus and Neptune. She tells Sailor Moon to give her the Holy Grail or she will kill them. Sailor Moon starts to bring forth the Grail, even though Uranus and Neptune yell at her for doing so.
Then we see Pro. Tomo stagger forth, weakly, and say, "Ho... ta... ru?" while looking at Mistress 9. He has gotten over the posesstion of the deimon. Mistress 9 simply knocks him away though, and starts to strangle him with her hair as well. Oddly, though, the word "Papa..." comes out of Mistress 9's mouth. She quickly puts her hand up to her mouth, agast at the fact that Hotaru's soul wasn't dead yet. She lets go of Tomo, Uranus and Neptune with her hair and drops to her knees. Tomo tries to comfort her as she asks weakly for the Grail. Sailor Moon gives it to her, even though Uranus and Neptune yell at her for doing so. As soon as Mistress 9 touchs it, she stands up and smiles. "Sailormoon, when Pharaoh Ninety arrives, I will spare your life by making you a Daimon vessel." she says with a smirk.
Mistress 9 gives the Grail to Pharoh 90, and he starts to appear. He then tries to strike down Mistress 9, much to her surprise, but Sailor Moon and Tomo stand in the way. Sailor Moon is weakened by the blast, sheilding it from Tomo and Mistress 9. Hotaru's soul begins to take back the body of Mistress 9, but then gets pushed back down again. Mistress 9 tires to fight the consiousness inside of her, but the black star on her forhead shatters and is replaced by the symbol of Saturn. Her body, and the symbol, then fades away.
Sailor Saturn awakens, giving Chibiusa back her Heart Crystal. She jumps into the black engery that is Pharoh 90, followed soon by Super Sailor Moon (now transformed because from the help of the other Senshi). She destorys Pharoh 90, and Sailor Moon comes out of the mess of explosions with a baby Hotaru.
