Sailor Moon-if you have watched the cartoon, you will most likely think that it's annoying and very stupid. But if you've ever read the manga, you should know that it's a much deeper story than what Dic and Clover Way want you to believe--they edited the cartoon to appeal to 4 year olds, and paranoid mothers who want good, wholesome cartoons... If you've ever read to Sailor Stars, then you would realize that there is a really Huge underlying message in Sailor Moon...for those of you who may not have access to it (though all you would have to do is go to www.usagiandmamoru.com , and read the manga translations), here it is:
Chibi Chibi has turned into Sailor Cosmos, the ultimate form of Sailor Moon that she changes into when she has the power to gain everything by giving up everything (including her life).
Eternal Sailor Moon understands why Chaos has the need for power, "It is the same as me wanting to be with my loved ones and friends. We are all lonely stars. That is why we seek each other... To be as one. One, that is how we all started. That is why our lives revolve around one another."
I don't know about you, but that is very true for me, and it helps me alot whenever i get lonely. Yeah...and most of you are laughing and thinking this is ridiculously corny...but w/e.
Naoko Takeuchi's art work for Sailor Moon is incredibly beautiful. If you've been to the gallery yet, then you can appreciate how artistic and skilled she is. I have her 2nd Art Book, and the pictures in it are gorgeous. |

Peach Girl-i got into this comic by reading it in Smile magazine. Here's Smile's description of the story; "With friends like these... Beauty is skin-deep. Everybody knows it, but few people really get it. Momo has a problem--she is forever being misunderstood. In the world where she lives, only bad girls have tans, and Momo tans too easily. Most people take one look at her and assume that she is, at best, a bubble-headed beach bunny, at worst, a slut. She needs a friend; unfortunately, she's got Sae. Sae says she's a friend, but she doesn't act like it. First, Sai steals Momo's favorite bag, then, she sets her sights on Toji, the boy Momo likes. With friends like these, who needs enemies?" It's a really good story, and pretty funny too. Unfortunately, i haven't been able to read the last parts of it... this background is a picture of Momo that i found a long time ago. |

Magic Knight Rayearth-really good too. About 3 girls who are summoned to a planet called Cephiro, where your will controls all, by the Princess Emeraude who is being held captive by Lord Zagato--her high priest who was supposed to keep anything from interfering with the princess praying for the safety of Cephiro. The 3 girls must learn to get along, learn magic with the help of Guru Clef, and Search to find the legendary Knights. i won't spoil the story or anything, but it's a really great series, and i totally recommend it. Plus, Mokona is really cute--he looks like a big rabbit w/ a diamond on his forehead. ^_^ |

Battle Angel Alita-the manga book I got from Jeff for my Birthday. It's really good, and has a really great story line. It's about how a scientist finds a cyborg head in the scrapyard, and builds her a body from criminals he kills. She too becomes a bounty hunter, and goes up against Makaku. It has great drawings, if not a few being kinda gory. But it has a really good ending too. But i need to collect more of the series. |

Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust--ok, i hate scary, bloody movies with utmost detest, but I gotta say, this movie was extremely good. D is half Human, half Vampire, who kills vampires as a bounty hunter. A girl goes missing, and D is hired to find her before she dies, or a rival team of bounty hunters hired by the same guy reaches her first. It's rated R for violence and gore, but ir wasn't quite as bad as i was thinking it would be. Ya'll should definately check it out!! |

Akira--really, really, really awesome movie! I can't really explain what it's about, except that everyone should see it! Wether or not you like anime. It's just really good. Kinda depressing, cuz the world almost ends, but the animation is great, and...yeah. |

Princess Mononoke-after wanting to see this movie for over 2 years, I finally watched it!! It's one of the best Anime I've ever seen, and it has a great moral. The only thing was i watched it in subtitles first, and they used the proper names for everything, which made it really really confusing to follow. So if you watch it, watch it in English first. Other then that, if i had a rate system of 1 to 5, it'd get a 6! |
