Poinciana Park Civic Ass'n is demanding that the median be returned to its previous grassy state and Mr. Forman is demanding reimbursement of the $8,500 since he had a valid permit. Commissioner Hutchinson will be meeting with interested parties on this matter and will try to reach a compromise. Bill Saunders, Sailboat Bend resident and board member of the Historic Preservation Board, posted on the SBCA email site, "I cannot believe the emails and media articles over paved parking where citizens have been parking for years, abusing the grass, turning the area to mud in the rain, and helping the median become unsightly. I am presuming that Mr. Forman gifted the city $8,000.00 to have the city public works dept. execute the paving for approved parking on public property for the use of anyone wishing to park there. Any other scenario might be deemed inappropriate."
