SHIRDI SAI PARTHI SAI DIVYA KATHA

As usual a brief recap of the previous episode is shown. How Sathya is admitted to the higher elementary school at Bukkapattanam and how the teacher there narrates the story of the miserly Guru and his Ashatabhuthi (hypocrite) sishya, the guru accumulating all wealth without parting with anything and how the sishya wins his confidence by giving back the speck of a grass that gets stuck to his body when they leave some oneï¿½s house The teacher puts a riddle to the whole class, asking the students to explain the motive behind the sishyaï¿½s behaviour and the moral of the story. No body in the class is able to offer a satisfactory explanation Little Sathya comes forward to explain. This is where the 12th episode ended.

Now to proceed with the 13th episode.

Sathya explains how the sishya is having an evil motive, to loot the wealth of his guru and that is why he returned the speck of grass to the owner of the house where he and his guru had stayed and left.

The teacher appreciates Sathya but at the same time ridicules the rest of the class for not being able to answer his question. This again makes some students, angry with Sathya.

Then the teacher asks the class students to produce the notes of the previous dayï¿½s. All produce their notes while Sathya does not. When the teacher questions Sathya, he tells him since he had understood the teaching he found it unnecessary to take down notes. The teacher does not relish his answer and punishes him by making him stand on the bench.

So Sathya stands on the bench to the utter consternation of the whole class. When the period comes to a close, as the teacher gets up to leave the class, the chair gets stuck to him and he is unable to shirk off the chair.. Embarrassed, he continues to sit in the class. The students laugh at the plight of the teacher. The next period teacher Mehboob Khan arrives in the class to see that the teacher is still there and he is upset on seeing Sathya standing on the bench.

He notices that the teacher is unable to leave the class as the chair has got stuck to his back. Then he explains to the teacher his mistake, the divinity in the little Sathya and advises the teacher to withdraw the punishment imposed on Sathya by asking him to sit. When the teacher asks Sathya to sit and when Sathya is seated, the teacher also is at once freed from the chair that had stuck to him till then.. The whole class erupts into applause excepting the few students who are angry with Sathya.

Later after the school is over all of them return home passing through the banks of Chitravathi river. The students who are sore with Sathya because he had answered correctly in the class, as a result of which they had to get the scolding from the teacher , take Sathya to task. But Sathya is unperturbed. Then they throw the thorny bushes at him. The thorns get stuck with Sathyaï¿½s hair. As usual the divine little master makes the students ashamed of their bad deeds by showing love towards them instead of any anger or hatred.

In the house his sister removes those thorns. When his mother Easwaramma, on knowing the entire happening wants to reprimand the students who did this to Sathya, he consoles her by telling that one should have equanimity towards good as well as bad and one should never hate anyone for any reason. The boys who had done this to him had later repented for their actions and so he does not want any action against them. Easwaramma is stunned to get a scholarly answer and explanation like this from a small boy.

Sathyaï¿½s friends also get a taste of His scholarliness when he starts narrating about how Bala Krishna hides the clothes of the Gopikaï¿½s and how as a grown up Krishna, later he provides perennial supply of clothe to Draupathi when she is being disrobed by the evil Dusshadana. His friends are astounded at the way he was able to explain about puranas etc. Most of his preaching, they find out of their comprehension and when they ask him for clarity he tells them he will give greater clarity at the appropriate time.

One day as he is playing with his sister and another neighbour, a beggar shouts from outside asking for food. His elder brother Sheshama Raju tells the beggar to go but the little Sathya goes inside brings a food and gives to the beggar. Seshamma Raju tells him that is he continues to give food to beggars like this he has to forsake his share of food in the hous. Sathya readily agrees to forgo his food. So when Easwaramma calls all of them for meals, he refuses to eat saying that He has already given his share of meals to a beggar and that he go without food. Then he goes in length explaining that divinity can come in any form, including a beggar and giving food to the hungry and the needy is as good as serving the God.

So no amount of cajoling by Easwaramma and others in the house could make Sathya take food.

Thus ends the current episode.

As usual a brief recap of the previous episode is shown. How Sathya's teacher gets stuck to his chair because he makes Sathya stand on the bench and how when he asks Sathya to sit down on the advice of Mehboob Khan (who knows the divinity of Sathya) he gets detached from the chair, how the teacher then apologies to Sathya, how the students throw the thorny bushes at Sathya, how then Sathya transforms them by his love etc. etc.

Now to proceed with the 14th episode.

This week's episode starts with a mobile clothe vendor who moves around on a cycle, arriving at Puttaparthi. He sells all types of clothes for men, women, and children. After making sales to the village folk he enters the house of Kondama Raju at his behest and Kondama Raju tells his grandchildren to buy clothes for the ensuing Deepavali. As the house mates go about making their choices, young Sathya enters into conversation with the cloth vendor who bluffs to little Sathya about his having sold this and that at the neighbouring village. Sathya makes known to him that he is aware of what happened elsewhere and advises the merchant to speak the truth and not lie. So also when he lies about the cost price of the clothes he corrects him again revealing to him the true cost price thereby impressing upon everyone present around that he is aware of everything.

When he is asked to make his choice he refuses to have for him any new clothe, saying that that he has already enough clothes for him and he does not want more. Kondamaraju is amazed when he gives a vedantic lecture about contentment and that one should not keep more than what one actually needs.

On the Deepavali day there is a get-together at the village where Master Sathya leads a bhajan group. He sings melodiously on Panduranga:

"Panduranga Pandarinaatha
............
............
Vithala Vithal Pnduranga
Pandarinaatha Panduranga.."

The entire crowd is spell bound listening to the divine and melodious voice of young Sathya.

Easwarambal takes Aarthi of Sathya as he enters back home, with a view to cancel the effects of evil- eyes that would have been cast upon him, Sathya smilingly tells her that no evil eye can affect him and that Easwarambal need not worry about any such thing.

Once the whole family is out for attending some function in some one's house, leaving Kondama Raju and his divine grand son Sathya in the house. Sathya reveals his mastery in cooking, his grandfather Kondama Raju assisting him in cutting vegetables etc. After the cooking is over, little Sathya feeds his grandfather with his little hand to his tearful delight and Kondama Raju also delights himself by feeding young Sathya with his hand. Thus feeding each other both appreciates the food when Easwarambal enters carrying some food and some khir (a liquid sweet dish). She is astonished at learning that Sathya could cook well as certified by his grandfather Kondamaraju.

Thus ends the current episode.

As usual a brief recap of the previous episode is shown. How Sathya surprises the mobile clothe merchant with omniscient power, his message ï¿½ Live contentedly with least requirementsï¿½ by refusing to buy clothes for him for Deepavali, saying that he has enough clothes for him already, his leading the now famous bhajan with the song ï¿½Panduranga Vithalaï¿½.ï¿½, how he lovingly tells his mother Easwarambal that no ï¿½evil eye can do any harm to him when she performs aarthi to him to ward off the effect of evil eyes etc. etc.

Now to proceed with the current 15th episode.

Young Sathyaï¿½s friends catch frogs in a basket, from a pond. Sathya who is equally affectionate to all beings advises them not to do these acts of himsa (violence) As his friends do not listen to him he changes them into pigeons and they fly away. Stunned on seeing this one of the boys salutes him with folded hands. (an evidence to the divine qualities which Sathya has started displaying.).

In the meanwhile his elder brother Seshama Raju gets married to a bride from Kamalapuram. As his divine qualities get revealed slowly, instead of realising his divinity, his friendsï¿½ parents start complaining to his father and elder brother that Sathya is distracting their sons from studies and spoiling them etc. etc. Sathyaï¿½s grandfather Kondama Raju alone understands the divinity in Sathya and he embraces Sathya with all love as others in the house reprimand the boy. Seshama Raju suggests Sathya may be sent to Kamalapuram for higher studies as he also will be there for some time, with his in-laws. All agree to the proposal and Sathya starts going to the new school. Sathya as usual in the new school gets a group as his followers and all teachers start liking him.

A master who looked after school drill as well as scouts very much wanted Sathya among his group for a scout camp away from school. So in the class he openly tells Sathya to come with others for the camp, of course in the scouts uniform and Sathya do not have a uniform nor he could afford the money for it. He however tells others that he will give a thought about his attending the camp. His elder brother flatly tells Sathya that he need not go for the camp as such expenses can not be afforded by the family. The next day, his class mate who sat next to him, silently leaves a set of uniform for Sathya along with a letter requesting him to accept the clothe and come to the camp. Sathya leaves a reply indicating that the friendship between them is bound by Prema (love) and such love should not be contaminated with material infestation like gifts etc and hence he can not accept such gift if such friendship should be everlasting.

His friend now understands Sathya and develops a great reverence for him.

Thus ends the current episode.

As usual a brief recap of the previous episode is shown. How Sathya changes the frogs caught by his friends and put into the basket, into pigeons (which fly away). How parents of his friends come to his house and complain about his ï¿½special qualitiesï¿½ failing to see the divinity in him, how the housemates decide to send him to a school in Kamalapuram, the bride belonging to which place, Seshama Raju (Sathyaï¿½s elder brother) marries and Sathya starts saying with them, how he refuses to accept free Scoutï¿½s uniform from a friend of his and how his friends develop a great liking and reverence for him etc. etc.

Now to proceed with the current 16th episode.

Sathya decides to join the Scouts camp and go to Pushpagiri Fair for doing public service. The charge per student is fixed at Rs. 10/- including to and from bus fare. Sathya takes his previous yearï¿½s class books, kept as good as new by him, to a poor boy in need of books and demands from him just Rs. 10/- (the amount actually needed by him for participating in the Scouts programme). The boy however had saved just five rupees in small changes and offer only that which Sathya gladly accept (thinking that he could walk the distance to Pushpagiri, instead of going in the bus along with others).

When he brings home the coins, they accidentally fall down and his sister-in-law shouts and wants to know wherefrom he got those money. His elder brother Seshama Raju also shouts at him. Sathya says that he sold his previous yearï¿½s books and got those money and offers to produce as witness, the boy to whom the books were sold. But his brother refuses to listen to him and scolds him severely, shouting that it was very bad of him to sell his school books etc. etc. . So Sathya leaves the money on the floor itself and his sister-in-law gladly takes those coins.

The next day all the students dressed up in scoutsï¿½ uniforms come to his house to take him along with them. On seeing them Sathya pretends to be having stomach ache and avoids going with them. However after they leave he wanders around and stumbles upon a bunch of beedies and an anna coin (beedies are actually rolled up dried tobacco leaves and are smoked like a cigarette; Till 1956, in India there was the British monetary system: A rupee consisted of 16 annas and one anna, consisted of twelve paisas and thereafter the metric system of one rupee consisting of 100 paiseï¿½ was introduced.). Sathya destroys the bundle of beedies and buries the particles in sand and proceeds on foot to Pushpagiri by a shortcut route through rocky hills.

At the fair he comes across a ï¿½gamblingï¿½ stall. There a man is seated in front of a hexagonal chart consisting of six numbers written on it in six squares, starting from 1 to 6. He holds a hexagonal dice inside an old tin container covering it with his hand and shaking the tin along with the dice. He shouts to attract people ï¿½ come and place your bet on any number and if that number comes up on the dice get double your stake from meï¿½. Smilingly our little Master goes to him and places his entire possession , the one anna coin on number ï¿½2ï¿½. The man rolls out the dice and on top comes the number ï¿½2ï¿½. So he shells out two annas to Sathya who then places the entire two annas on number ï¿½1ï¿½ and asks the man to roll out the dice. The dice produces number ï¿½1ï¿½ and Sathya is now able to get four annas from the stall owner who then persuades Sathya to stake the entire four annas and Sathya places the money on number ï¿½6ï¿½. This time also the dice comes up with the number ï¿½6ï¿½ and the man shells out 8 annas. He now persuades Sathya to place the entire amount of 8 annas on any number and Sathya keeps them on number ï¿½4ï¿½. Again Sathya wins but he accepts just a total of 12 annas from the tall owner. He refuses to play any further saying that is all what is needed by him and advises the stall owner to stop luring people with gambling. He says that greed and desire are the root cause of all disasters. A stunned stall owner looks with folded hands and with awe and reverence as the little master leaves the spot.

Then Sathya joins the scouts group and requests his master to allow him to function without a scoutï¿½s uniform. The master exempts him from wearing uniform and makes him leader for one group. Then Sathya goes about the fair helping all the needy. He picks up a crawling child who is about to fall down and hands it to the mother. He distributes ï¿½butter milkï¿½ to thirsty people and then helps an old woman to get up and walk out of the fair. Thus untiringly he goes about serving lot of people.

Thus ends the current episode.
