CHOCOBO RACING TRICKS:
Hold R1, R2 and Square all at once to make the chococbo increase it's speed, the chocobo's stamina will slowly go down.
Hold R1, R2, L1, L2 all at once to raise the chocobo's stamina.
BREEDING: When you get the Chocobo's you need, feed them each 11 Sylkis Greens BEFORE breeding them to increase their abilities. Buy these from Chocobo Sensei on the Northern Continent. *DON'T FORGET THIS!!!*
*If you are trying see what kind of chocobo you have, go see Choco Billy, and pick the 'moving chocobo's' option, he then asks of which one you want to move. Always have 4 captured from one area before doing this to get the best one.*
GETTING THE CHOCOBO: Equip the Chocobo Lure materia to a member of your party and move on. Rent 6 stables at the Chocobo Farm.
(NOTE: all areas where chocobo's are, are only where the printings of the Chocobo's feet are.)
Male Great (walking) Chocobo, found near Goldsaucer by the water. Breed with female great (running) chocobo found south of Mideel. If you don't know these area's by name, go to World Map.
*All chocobo's should be raced to the S class at the Goldsaucer to better the chances of getting what you need to obtain the gold chocobo.*
After you have bred these two with a Carob Nut stolen from a Vlakorados in the green area by the Chocobo Sensei's house (you might as well get a few for future needs), you will either get a green or blue chocobo. Just to be safe, before mating them, save right before you enter the farm, that way you can just reset the game if you dont get what you want or need. It doesn't matter the sex of the chocobo at this point. If you wait about 30-45 minutes you can breed them again, but if you don't wanna wait, repeat the process over again, including catching new chocobo's. (if you need more space in the stalls, just let the yellow ones go if your going to do this) You must get the opposite color and sex of what you already have to breed them. (save before you enter as I said before so you can keep trying) Race them to the S class and breed them with the Carob Nut. You should now have the Black Chocobo. (You can now release all of the yellow chocobo's) You now need to find a Wonderful (dashing) Chocobo the opposite sex of the black one you already have. Find these on the Northern Continent on the west by the ocean (the prints are on the snow) Race the chocobo's to the S class, and breed them with the Zeio Nut. Steal these from little goblins in a forest in the Mideel islands. You now have a GOLD Chocobo.
