PREP SCHOOL

Prep School is an inspiring environment for boys who are quickly maturing and eager to express opinions. We aim to encourage curiosity and to set our boys on the path toward being lifelong learners with inquisitive, objective minds. Equally, we instill the values of an ethical person; a young gentleman -an Aitchisonian.

The subjects offered at Prep School include: Cambridge studies in English, Mathematics, Science, added to which are school syllabi of Urdu, Pakistan Studies, Islamiat, Arts, Mandarin, German and French. Computer studies is integrated into all core subjects.

We have a purpose built academic block with spacious rooms, covered walkways, and three well equipped Science Labs. Three state of the art Computer Studies labs have multimedia and interactive smart boards. Two rooms designated for French & German Language teaching are equipped with multi-media and superior sound systems. In addition to Syed Babar Ali Library, Prep School has its own library which is extensively used by pupils on daily basis. A modern Tuck Shop with oven fresh food items is the focus of pupils and teachers during mid-day break.

In addition to formative testing or progression testing, the Prep School conducts major Examinations each calendar year; Half Yearly and Annual.

A variety of Co-curricular activities such as Debates (English & Urdu), Recitation (English & Urdu), Qira`t, Quiz competition, Essay writing (English & Urdu), Hand writing (English & Urdu) are held amongst Houses on a regular basis. In addition to this all boys are encouraged to join at least two clubs/societies from the Dramatic Club, Computer Society, Mathematics Society, Quiz Society, Chess Society, Debating Society, Music Society, Nature Club, French Club, Art & Photo Club and Aero-Modeling Club.

In the field of Games and Sports, we offer Athletics, Cricket, Swimming, Horse Riding, Lawn and Hardcourt Tennis, Squash, Table Tennis, Badminton, Basketball, Football, and Hockey. With the exception of swimming, which is compulsory for all boys, at least two other games must be played.

Prep School boys organize and conduct Annual Inter-School competitions for English Debates, Urdu Debates and General Knowledge Quiz. The Young writers of Prep School publish a School Magazine by the name of “PREPPY” every year. They write, edit and compose articles in English, Urdu and French for this prestigious publication under the guidance of staff advisors. To enhance the aesthetic sense and artistic values boys take part in an Annual Art Competition for publication of a Wall Calendar each year. Best works of arts are selected and published and over the years it has become a signature sign of Aitchison College. Our boys produce an English Play every year. They manage the adaptation, sets, lights and sound and direction –and of course acting.

Prep School offers a broad experience in the vital years of development before Senior schooling and Cambridge IGCSE.
