A
Heart
One day you found a heart,
Without knowing that it had been broken in more ways
than one.
With unending love, and care as gentle as the petals
on a rose,
You taught it to love again.
A kind of love that knows no bounds,
To love more than it knows it ever could,
infinitely.
It beats, knowing that there's more that comes.
Every hour of every day, it feeds it thought, each
smile.
A heart that's hungry, yet only one could feed it.
One heart made for only one other.
Two half beats come together to make one whole,
It then beats stronger.
One cannot survive without the other.
One day, you asked for the hand of the person with
half a heart.
I said, yes.
Today, I still say yes, on one condition, that it is
forever.
And I ask for yours. |
