Personality: Hitoritabi are distant and slightly distracted. They have little interest in intricate social manuevering and prefer to speak casually instead of using all too often plot riddled formality. Other races' actions are more or less curiosities to them and nothing to really worry oneself with. Most Hitoritabi have difficulty focusing on their surroundings due to intermittant visions of their lost home plane of Zaitaku. They are dominated by two primary drives, one is to find their lost home and the other is a curiosity about everything around them. Physical Description: Hitoritabi stand slightly taller and are slimmer built than the average human. They have six feathery wings facilitating excellent flying abilities, the wings are about full length for the normal two wings, but each is slightly shorter from the bones to the tips of the feathers, also, the top two are angled up somewhat and the bottom two are angled downward somewhat. When flapping, they make something of a wave motion from top (front) to bottom (back). Their skin is pale and faintly tinted with any one of the primary or secondary colors. Their hair is usually some shade of the color tinting their skin and their eyes are most often one step away from their hair color (blue hair = green or violet eyes). They also have a long sinuous tail similar to a succubus's barbed tail, except minus the barb, that is about 8' long. Adults have a wholly mutable physical age and they are therefore immortal. Relations: Their lost condition attracts both sympathy and predation and therefore they are well recieved by good races, hunted by evil races, and regarded mostly indifferently by neutral races. They most often reciprocate the feelings of other races towards them. Alignment: Their wandering lives tend towards chaos and their focus on surviving until they get home pulls them towards neutrality. Hitoritabi Lands: Zaitaku is their home plane, but it vanished from around them and left them scattered throughout the various other planes with only limited means of attempting to find it again. The Hitoritabi have no other lands of their own. Religion: Hitoritabi have no religious traditions as they never had to worry about the afterlife before recent times. Now they often adopt the religions of the cultures they adopt. Language: The Hitoritabi speak Common since it is so universal and often learn the languages they encounter as they travel. They also speak their own language that is simply too nuanced and difficult for other races to learn, in fact, only deities and some high level immortal entities can master their language. (Consider it taking 43 skill ranks in speak language to learn for non-Hitoritabi) Names: Since their given names are simply incomprehensible to other races, they adopt names from the societies they come to admire, often human and elven, though this can include halfling, dwarven, gnome, and any other civil races they come across. Adventurers: Hitoritabi are perpetual adventurers since they have been displaced from their home plane. Some few Hitoritabi settle with a group and champion causes, though most adventure to simply advance themselves personally and spiritually.
