| Inhabitants of the mysterious isle of Avalon. These beings long ago transcended the mortality of the other civilized races on the Material Plane. They are undisputed masters of magic and use it to it's fullest potential to protect their home from intrusions of any kind.
Personality: Avalonians are almost paranoid isolationists. They do not make much effort to socialize with other races when they do meet, but they have a keen sense of the motivations that drive others which may have produced their attitude towards others. Physical Description: Avalonians tend to be slightly taller than humans and have an otherworldly grace and beauty that exceeds that of the elves. They have fair skin, human hair colors, and blue, green, or gray eyes. They always have perfect complexions and while on Avalon their scars fade within a year no matter when they happened. Avalonians are immortal, but become somewhat frailer and wiser after many millenia. Relations: Avalonians have no established relations with any other races, though once they had friendly relations with the ancient elven civilizations and the druidic order. Now, Avalonians mercilessly defend their home from intrusion and are very aloof if they have reason to travel abroad. Alignment: Avalonians tend strongly towards neutrality, though they do favor Ehlonna over Obad-Hai as druids. Avalonian Lands: Avalonians reside on the mysterious and elusive island of Avalon. Few have ever found Avalon and fewer still have survived the Avalonians fanatic defense of their home and returned to tell about it, but those few have told tales that draw many brave souls to attempt to find this wonderous isle. This results in the Avalonians growing stronger as the ages pass since most intruders meet their doom by the Avalonians' hands. Avalon is ruled by a wizard king and druid queen and their close advisors. The rulers are for the most part are on par with deities in power and are the backbone of the protective magics around the isle. Religion: Avalonians generally worship Boccob and Ehlonna, but sometimes Obad-Hai. Some few, especially those with experience abroad, worship other deities. Language: Avalonians speak their own language and Sylvan, and tend to learn the languages of the planes and of magic. Names: Avalonians have similar naming traditions to the Elves, but in the Avalonian language. Adventurers: Few Avalonians become adventurers, but those who do can bring a fresh and eye opening perspective back to Avalon when they visit or return to settle down. They are powerful spellcasters and find welcome in any adventuring party in need of another caster. Limited Scorn Earth (SU): Avalonians float 1 ft. above surfaces, but cannot levitate as an Elocater(see XPH) can, they are also treated as if permanently under the effects of Feather Fall for any distace.
