Ansuz
Originally motes upon the chaos that existed in the beginning, they formed into the beings they are by the multiverse's desire for order. The Ansuz have guided the fate of the multiverse from the beginning and continue to do so from their strongholds on their own unique plane. While they originally were of immense power, they have slowly faded as their need to directly control events has lessened.

Personality: Generally aloof and cold, they simply are out to bring the Grand Design, which exists in the very fabric of the multiverse, to fruition. Those that deviate from this goal tend to have varying outlooks on life and their place in the multiverse.

Physical Description: Ansuz stand slightly shorter than humans, but are extremely lithe as the inside of their bodies are mostly composed of raw psionic energy. They have what appear to be wispy, ethereal feathered wings, but they are actually composed of force. Overall they have a generally angelic countenace.

Relations: Ansuz have no relations with anyone other than deities as a race and that relationship is hostile, but not agressive. They generally try to avoid attracting attention to their race, as that would potentially compromise their continued ability to subtley guide the multiverse, in fact, most deities are unaware of their true purpose as a race.

Alignment: Ansuz are the strings that guide the multiverse and are generally lawful neutral in their pursuit of the Grand Design. Those who pursue their own agendas are often throwbacks to the chaos that spawned them in the beginning.

Ansuz Lands: The Ansuz control their own plane of time, the time element on the plane is psionicly mutable for natives only and only with regards to themselves, so basically all natives are treated as being under the effects of temporal acceleration for combat purposes.

Religion: They worship no gods as a race as they were the ones who engineered their ascensions/creation in the first place.

Language: They speak their own language, simply referred to as Ancient, which is derived from True Speach, but has none of the power and has been designed to be completely unlearnable by other races and even deities. They also know the languages of the outer planes and can quickly pick up on any other language, yes even secret ones with the proper exposure.

Names: Their names are often unspeakable and are generally an intense psionic barrage of impulses, which, needless to say, is very ineffective for daily usage amongst other races. They therefore generally adopt a few favored names to use as they become appropriate to the situation.

Adventurers: Very, very rarely do Ansuz venture out on their own for their own agendas, but those that do are powerful, wise, and very effective at what they choose to do, so long as it does not involve the futile powers of magic.

Special Qualities:

Combat Scorn (SU): Ansuz do not physically hold their weaponry and shields and insted wield them psionicly, recieving no bonus on melee attacks instead of a STR bonus on attack and damage rolls, they still apply their DEX bonus on ranged attacks, when forced to wield melee weapons by hand, they use their STR bonus and recieve a -5 penalty on both attack and damage rolls (min. 1 assuming that it could normally be obtained with their STR bonus/penalty), they also recieve a racial -1 penalty to melee attack rolls under any circumstance, if an Ansuz expends 1 PP per attack, they may apply their INT bonus while psionicly wielding their weapons, doing so replaces their DEX bonus on ranged attacks, this ability does not benefit from the Overwhelming Mind ability

Force Resistance (SU): Ansuz are well attuned to force and can resist damage from such sources to a limited degree, all force damage dealt to them is reduced by 5 per source.

Force Wings (SU): Ansuz wings are made of wispy strands of force and are impossible to completely destroy, they can simply will them back together as a free action on their next turn; while their wings are destroyed, they are reduced to their lesser flight speed, but it remains a supernatural ability, in addition their EX flight ability cannot be used while their wings are sundered. If their supernatural ability to fly is suppressed, the wings can catch enough air to fly at the above listed EX fly speed, the wings have the same durability as normal feathered wings, but they are immune to mundane damage (i.e. still damaged by enhancement bonus weaponry, energy damage, and so forth), though composed of force, an Ansuz's wings are not subject to dispel attempts or the negation of psionics or spells as they truly are a part of the Ansuz and not just an effect

Indominable Mind (EX): due to their great mental focus, Ansuz are immune to all mind-affecting effects, positive and negative. They also may always take 10 to gain psionic focus.

Limited Scorn Earth (SU): Ansuz float 1 ft. above surfaces, but cannot levitate as an Elocater(see XPH) can, they are also treated as if permanently under the effects of Catfall for any distace.

Manipulative (EX): +4 racial bonus to Bluff, Diplomacy, Gather Information, and Sense Motive checks, +1 ML/CL on mind-affecting effects

Naturally Psionic (EX): Ansuz are naturally psionic and recieve 1 bonus power point per character level

Overwhelming Mind (EX): Ansuz minds are so powerful and their bodies are suffused with so much psionic might, that they can, 1/day, manifest a psionic power or psi-like ability while under an effect that would normally prevent them from doing so, unhindered, or they can use this ability to ignore the power resistance or psionic immunity of a target for 1 round. In addition, their supernatural abilities continue to function under conditions that would cancel them for 1d6 rounds. Only deities with more HD can overcome this ability as can innate planar traits, such as those of the Concordant Domain of the Outlands as one approaches the spire.

Scorned by Magic (EX): due to their very nature being opposed to the crutch of magic, Ansuz may not cast divine magic except that gained from a psionic deity, they recieve a -4 caster level penalty to spellcasting (min. CL=1), they may only learn 1/2 the normal # of spells per level in any class that learns spells individually and they begin play with 1/2 the normal number of spells known rounded down, spellcasters recieve a -1 (-2 for spontaneous casters) spell slot penalty per spell level per spell source as well, therefore clerics are denied their domain spells, but not the powers, and all casters are delayed in learning spells of new levels. Also, only clerics of psionic deities may use divination magic, as the gods do not readily grant insight to those that would scorn the power they offer. They do recieve some benfit from this in the form of Spell Resistance. Ansuz have SR=(10 +1/2 levels in manifesting classes) against magic, but not psionics, even if they are treated as the same

Telepathy (SU): range 100 ft., any intelligent creature, any known language, an Ansuz's telepathy ability recieves better than normal benefits from Overwhelming Mind and cannot be suppressed at all unless Overwhelming Mind is overcome.

Temporal Acclimation (EX): Ansuz are acclimated to an evershifting time stream and while they can be damaged by distortions in time, they do not recieve any negative side effects from such distortions.

Special Attacks:

Temporal Touch (SU): Ansuz can generate temporal distortions with a touch attack, dealing 2d3 temporal damage to a target, bypassing resistances and damage reduction, with a Will save vs DC (10+RHD+CHA Mod) for half damage. This ability has no effect on incorporeal undead, as the passing of time has no effect on their stability. This ability is useable 1/day. Overwhelming Mind has no effect on this ability.

Psi-like Abilities: 2/day Psionic Charm (ML=character level +4), 1/month Psionic Dominate (ML=1/2 character level), saves are charisma based, these abilities are subject to the Manipulative special quality and the bonus from which is in addition to the listed ML

Favored Class: Psion or Erudite [although psion fits their natural tendency for psionics, the erudite better fits their extensive and ancient knowledge of the mind]
