The History of the Theta Xi Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota
Our chapter, Theta Xi, was founded at Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Beach, Florida on April 12, 1997.  The fabulous 15 were originally called "Women Inspiring and Acheving in Music" the women held meetings and were determined to form a chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota on B-CC's campus.  The 15 along with advisors Gail Robinson-Oturu and Daphne Dunston-Wharton started a campaign that took about a year and a half to complete to get an official charter line of Sigma Alpha Iota on the campus.  Since April 1997, Theta Xi has had a total of 8 pledge classes to join the sisterhood of Sigma Alpha Iota.
