| Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity was founded on June 12, 1903 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. A professional organization for women, its main purposes are to support the ideals of music both in education and in performance. Hampton Roads Alumnae Chapter (Iota B Province) is based in southeast Virginia. Our sisters can be found in the seven cities that make up the Hampton Roads area. After several years of planning, Hampton Roads Alumnae became a chapter on June 16, 2007. All of our members have a strong devotion to music and like many chapters of SAI the sisters come from differing backgrounds. Many are in music education, primary education, performance and we even have a biologist. |
