Here we are with the Girl Scouts at Hilliard Station Elementary!

Megan, Stef, and Leah had a great time helping the girls earn their Sounds of Music badge! (The girls had a great time too!)
Above: The Girl Scouts started out by learning about different instruments, including the violin, flute, bassoon, french horn, and trombone.

Left: Megan explains the different sizes of violin and how the instrument makes a sound.

Below: Leah talks about the flute and the woodwind family.
We also let the girls try out some instruments...
Above: Leah helps those waiting to try out the flute

Right: Megan helps a girl try out the trombone
We had so much fun!
Left: The girls made paper tambourines

Above: We taught the girls about pitch. Why do bottles containing different levels of water make different sounds?

Below: We capped off the evening with each SAI girl performing while the girl scouts had a snack. Below, Megan and Leah perform an impromptu violin/flute duet
The girls were so eager to participate!
All-in-all, it was a fun evening for everyone! They asked us to come back and help more troops earn their music badge!
