FAIR HEARING

No one can be judge of his own cause  - The authority should not have heard  the explanation offered by the employee and decide that the explanation was untrue, when action was  initiated on the basis of grievances of the authority.  No one can be a judge of his own cause and no witness would certify that his own testimony was true.  It is often said that justice must not only be done but must also appear to be done. [S.D. Saji v. District Court, W.A.No.408 of 1998, dated 15-12-1999.  Arijit Pasayat (CJ) & K.S. Radhakrishnan (J)]
