Village ends; memories linger

The food is gone and the entertainment finished, but the memories of the 43rd International Village will remain for a long time.

McKeesport's ethnic festival wrapped up last night with a rousing 20-minute fireworks display. That was the climax of the finale, which also included the McKeesport High School Dance Team and the duo By Chance, who performed for about an hour, including an a cappella version of "God Bless America" as the pyrotechnic display began.

The 43rd annual International Village begins tomorrow and continues through Thursday from 3-11 p.m. at Renziehausen Park in McKeesport. Admission is $1.
