THE FACE IN THE MIRROR

Dear Friend and Guru of indomitable will
Fires rage and burn that even you cannot still!
Before you turned away from my shadowed face
Before my silent heart fell from your shining grace
Then you were a mind's dream in a shifting sea of humanity
Arousing desires and confusion from my natural state of equanimity
Like a mute witness who did not understand too much
I was transfixed by the fire in your eyes & words that bespoke so much!
And the longing that you stop for a minute to kiss me.
The crush of your lips, an appealing, enigmatic fantasy;
Thus, my body froze in ultimate bliss
While my mind tumbled on into an eternal abyss.
As awareness set in, walls and other defences took over
The casualties were you and me, and deprivation of good company the only rollover.

For we see and conclude with different hearts and eyes
I believe you are an angel sent from Paradise
But you wish I heed you are a sinner, not a saint
Yet love shines through your unprotective armour radiant, not faint.
You have always set my body and soul on fire
Your friendship is all that I desire.
Through icebound seas and endless shore
You attract me much and I love you still more!

I suppose I am attracted by your physical form
And your cerebral abilities have taken me by storm!
So calm, collected, compassionate and dispassionate at will
I am fervently attached to that spirit in you still.

Physically and mentally attracted by you, my dear
Love has no boundaries, no age, no fear.
Emotional integrity through every passing season
Devotion that lasts beyond doubt or reason.

Instant chemistry on my side of the fence
Starbursts and fireworks, the thrill of suspense.
My heart on my sleeve, in love and friendship
You are wrong if you think its just hero worship!

Now, were you in love with me
We would share a mutual relationship
How wonderful that would be!
I'll wait through eternity with the greatest of ease
You can learn to love me now, or wait if you please.

Its never too late for that old tingly feeling
When you know that someone cares above all that wheeling, dealing
The world offers you a great future, but what, if you miss?
Then you reach the Pearly Gates and discover you've not won her love nor HIS!

Love is the age old story and commitment its key
When you have someone so enchanted,
What reason for you to flee?
Take me by the hand, look into my eyes and see what you shall see
A deep, abiding love, that says, "I will always love thee."

I will love you always, through sun and rain
I will love you whenever there's joy or pain
And no matter what you say or do and this is meant
I cannot love you less than one hundred percent.

Physically and emotionally attracted,my dear
Established by time,year after year.
Distance and space have not altered this fact
You were right that friendship has this impact.
I was honoured the first time,yet it gave me such a fright
Now it has become natural, wholesome and right!
And I learned that there are so many ways to groove
Its my turn now to help make your next move.

You know I would die for you
So let's see that smashing smile again
Those great quizzing eyes
Let your body talk,let your lips speak
Of time that flies like a bird on its wing;
Like sand through an hour glass.
Let your style show,let your love flow
Like Santa's at X'Mas!

I'll be waiting right here for you,with arms wide open
No traveller' prodigal person,would have received a warmer welcome or haven
I've been sick at heart and awaiting your return
Without you, life has no meaning,no fulfilment, no pattern.

Completely captivated,you'll find its true
When I touch your dearly beloved face that came in out of the blue.
I'll run through your hair with loving fingertips
And show you,how I miss you,when I hold your hand and kiss your lips.

Be mine now' I'll whisper,Forever and a day
Let me take you to a place far and away
Where unbounded love is the depth,breadth and rule for you
Every smile,tear and breath, I draw for you.
You are my world,my universe,HIs ultimate Creation
To you, I pledge myheart, In sweet anticipation.

For I am your sunbeam,that warms you with a kiss,so gently to a cheek.
I am your moon in the sky,when I join the clouds at my favourite hide & seek.
I am the air that surrounds you in comfort, as you live and breathe
I am the face in the mirror that reflects your every deed.
I exist on the palms of your hands and in the numbers of your name
I am the eternal spirit you find so difficult to tame.
I am in the wind that whistles by a sweet message to your ears
I am in the rain that falls softly, to cover all your fears.
I am your shadow at night, when you are not looking around
I keep you safe from harm, unfettered, unbound.
I see the pride of your father's and the joy in your mother's eyes
I am in the values you hold, and not in the ones you despise.
I am NOT God, or an egotist, but one with nature in an ancient mystery
There's no place on heaven or earth, I'd rather be, than in your arms, creating history.

I was born incomplete; I need you to become a whole
The yin and the yang and the yearning for you, all true, not mere hyperbole.
I would shrivel and die without you
Just don't sit there, looking in, its so deja vu
So reciprocate, my love, why dont you?
Just believe and you wont be disappointed
God, clayfeet and all, you are completely accepted!

How can I ask for more than you can give me
When you are at the crossroads of your own individuality?
It takes two to tango, and two to start a flame
You need faith and courage to play this spontaneous, very human relationship game.
Thus far beyond the congeniality of the fainthearted
True friendship is free, generous, unrestrained and wholehearted.

Life is full of choices too, we know its true
And you offerred friendship now, didnt you?
Soon, you rejected it in a heartbreaking call
If you could not stay the course, why offer friendship in the first place at all?

But, tell me honestly, can you be 'just friends'?
You suffer strange complexes, as sure as the river that bends.
The friendship you offerred , was not rejected out of hand or rebuffed
But in your Ego, the love and friendship you had was snuffed.

Friendship or love, need understanding, patience and time
A mutually respectful, satisfying relationship that should last a lifetime.
I may offer a genuine argument, sometimes a conflict
Because, unlike you, dear heart, I am not perfect!
But your wishes shall always be mine, as I love you, truly I do
I would dearly like to hear you say "Honey I care about you, too".

In a global chaos, communication is a challenge
Our commitment to ourselves should be peace, not revenge
You can create in me, what you need and deserve
For I offer friendship and loyalty and an abundance of possibilities, without reserve.

Love is seasonal, with time and interest often lacking
But when it is important enough, it needs constant backing
Whether we nurture this bond, or whether we forget
Let it be filled with happiness, never tinged with regret.

You know when we learn something new
We need to hear it two hundred times, experts say its true
So let me say this once again - Aloud and anew
I am completely besotted and doting and you!

Its the way you are beyond compare
When I need you, you are always there
You are on my lips frequently, and in my dreams, and always in my heart.
Yet, what is existence when we are physically so far apart?
Existence is the realisation that the world is beautiful, because you are part of it
I know now why the birds sing, the bees buzz, the butterflies flit.
What makes the rose blush and the brook to babble on?
For certain you stopped by and enraptured them, before moving on
O, see how the the cat stretches its limbs at your touch
Its a picture perfect pose you can photograph as such.
But your absence from my presence has banished me to a wintry grave
Though hope springs eternal in the desolate and the brave.
You have turned my life outside in, inside out and upside down
You are also the reason my whole world spins around.

Now you may never fall in love with me and you may never dream of it
Yet my heart and spirit are in your hands, you know you can rely on it.
Come share your pain and release your deepest fears
Together, we can make magic,in spite of all our tears.

If, you are a loss of words and don't know what to say
This poetry is presented with passion, to motivate you, this glorious day.
For every hour is filled with affection, when I muse about you
Behold! The stars have come together for me and for you.

God speed you to me in comfort and safety
Let our friendship be a strong reality
Not a word that is written on the sands for fools to reedeem
But a walk hand-in-hand in fond esteem
So pray, do not confer a torment, equivalent to hell
Reciprocate a trust that in any language marks thee well.

But, if you are married off, you may by chance remember
I'll be there, front and centre, dead as the fire, in the sacred ember
You will gaze transfixed, as my life flickers out to cold oblivion, so joylessly
In the end, life burns us all to a cinder, so remorselessly.
Life is so short, as a glint in an eye;
Or a hint in a smile, that is caught too late.
Life can be cruel as a raging tide, so don't hesitate
