OPPOSITES THAT DO NOT ATTRACT
By

Amit, he believes in punishing
Sue, she believes in educating
Amit is smart and trendy
While Sue is wise and friendly
Its strange they made a working contract
For a couple of opposites that just don’t attract.

Amit looks around for people to blame
Sue enjoys a cat and mouse game.
Facts, figures and ‘things’ his only objects
People and passion her two main subjects.
They make a good team and that’s a fact
But they are still a couple of opposites that don’t attract.

Amit blames his poor manners on his genes, with liberty
Unacceptable to Sue as far as I can see.
She is positive and expansive with the touch of Jupiter
While Amit is mercurial and simply cannot understand her!
They are the yin and the yang and that can be backed
By this very pair of opposites that do not attract.

Amit says Sue is a workaholic and that it is true
But he works just as hard, till his fingers are blue.
The major difference is Sue likes what she does
While Amit derives less and less satisfaction, that’s the latest buzz.
She must learn forgiveness and he cultivate tact
Until they are a pair of opposites that do attract.

Sue looks at the big picture and promotes growth for each and everyone
While Amit takes care of the little details one by one.
Both like to remain in the background of fame
At these times, shy and reserved, uniquely the same
Yet undeniably on the opposite sides of the Zodiac
A couple who simply don’t seem to attract.

They have unfinished business in their relationship
The fear of rejection, the fear of friendship
Yet they can never find out how close they are
As they argue about things so trivial, by far,
This couple with a single pact
But with no visible means to attract.

There is no need for justification
What is needed is a whole lot of consideration,
Each contains a measure of the other
Together they can create a whole, like no other.
They work best when they interact
But radical rethinking is needed their opposites to attract.

They say opposites do attract, so I am optimistic
I don’t live in a box; I am realistic.
Increase the quantity and quality of speech and act
And you will find it easy, your opposite to attract.
For Sue and Amit future events may have an impact
But don’t hold your breath; they may yet be opposites that simply do not attract!
