The sun was out and the weather was hot.
Running along the street, a man suddenly stopped.
It wasn't exhaustion that made him do so,
But the incident that happened there a long time ago.
It was a typical sunny day,
So a young boy came out to have fun and play.
As soon as he was about to pick the ball up from his feet,
The wind blew and the ball started to roll down the street.
But when he looked up to see where the ball was heading,
All he saw was a house on fire and burning.
He knew it depends on him on what was to be done.
Good thing he remembered his numbers and dialed 9-1-1.
The firemen came and quickly put the fire away.
Some of them stayed to see if everyone was okay.
One of them said, "Young man, you really saved the day."
Then he replied, "If there's a will, there's a way."
So as this saying came back to his mind,
He felt he is really one of a kind.
With a quick smile, he started running
Back to the fire department where he is now working.
