Gameplay

The gameplay is really simple. Shoot anything, dodge everything. The exceptions being, don't/can't shoot the enemy fire(so dodge) and you should'nt dodge power-ups.

There are a few different styles of enemy planes in the game. There are little ones that go down in 1 shot, slightly bigger ones that take 5 shots, some bigger then that which take more shots, and finally really big ones that take a lot of shots. Color doesnt matter. Almost. There are some orange ones that fly in groups. Destroy the entire group to gain a power-up.

There are a couple different power-ups.

  • 1 will make you shoot 4 shots instead of 2. |||| instead of | |.
  • Another power-up will give you 2 extra jets on your wings. They each shoot 1 shot, raising your maximum to 6 shots.
  • There is a power-up that will clear all enemies on the screen when you pick it up.
  • There are 1 or 2 others, I assume one is for additional rolls, but I can't really tell for sure.
  • The Good

    Well, its an old shmup, so you shouldnt expect too much from it. It's a neat and sort of fun little game, but if you are used to more then this will dissapoint.

    The Bad

    Well, there are a few bad things in this game.

  • The sound is horrible. High pitched ringing effects, no real background music to speak of
  • The weapon power-ups, they do nothing. Sure you may shoot 6 bullets, and it only takes 2 to down a plane, but it still takes all 6 shots. Even if only 1 of them actually comes close to hitting the plane. You may shoot a shot wide enough to hit both of the enemy planes that are staring right at you, but only 1 will go down.
  • Graphics are boring, plain and generic. The Enemy bullets were hard to see in some areas due to the colors used, but that may have been the idea
  • Once you hit 1million points, the score rolls over to 0, and continues on like that. If you play for high scores, you are warned.
  • The ending was horrible. All it said was "CONGRATULATION"
  • So there you have it. The game is just a simple shmup. Power-ups serve little purpose. Maybe a little insurance for the 32 stages, but nothing too impressive.

    Some screenshots. The ending, game over, and gameplay.
