The Sagay "Sigay" Jaycees and the Project C.A.R.E.S. ( Community Activities Reaching to Everyone thru Services ), in coordination with the DSWD, City Health Office Sagay City, Associations of Barangay Captains and the Senior Citizens Association of the Philippines - Sagay Chapter conducted the "Eye Care fo You Project" last January 20, 2002 at the senior Citizens Building, Sagay City
The project benefited some seventy four (74) Senior Citizens from seventeen (17) Barangays.The beneficiaries received a free eye consulataion and check up, which followed the lecture on "Eye Care, eye Diseases, and the Relation of Diabetes to Blindness," from the regular Project C.A.R.E.S. Volunteer Specialist, Dr. Rolando B. Lee. Eye diseases diagnosed were cataract, refraction, and glaucoma, while there were also beneficiaries who were recommended for further check-up.
Sagay "Sigay" Jaycees and Project C.A.R.E.S. intend to bring "Project Eye Care for You" directly to the Barangays so that it will benifit more of our less fortunate Senior Citizens who are in the dire need of services such as this. The "Eye Care for You Project" is the only one of the programs/projects lined up by the Sagay "Sigay" Jaycees for the JC Year 2002 to live up to this year's JC theme: Committed Action towards Responsible and Effective Services (C.A.R.E.S)
Sagay "Project Eye care for You."was organized by JC President Alfredo "Thirdy" Maranon,III assisted by JC Executive VP Vivencio "Bebong" Flores and Project Chairman JC Kit Elton "kit" P. Pilla.
