Greeting Potential Shipmates,
There has been a lot of talk about taking a cruise together,
especially after the raves from past cruise taker (Susan, Anna, An and myself).
Well, a few of us looked and found one. It is a 7 days Carnival cruise departing from
Tampa, Florida. It departs on 11/16/08 - 11/23/08. The ports of visit are
Grand Cayman (Cayman Island), Cozumel (Mexico), Belize and Roatan Island (Honduras).
Each of the island offer shore excursions. Please click on the corresponding
shore excursions link to see what each island has to offer. It is recommended to purchase
shore excursion prior to taking the cruise, since some has limited space.
Also, it is NOT recommended to join non-cruise affiliated shore excursion.
Because if anything happens, the ship will leave the ports with or without you and
it will become YOUR responsibility to find a way to join the cruise at the next port.
The cruise-affiliated shore excursions will get you back to the cruise ship on time.
The prices of the rooms for the cruise are based on double occupancy.
Some of them can accommodate up to 4 people per room. Thus, if you choose to have
up to 4 people (the maximum) per room the price will differ from what is listed.
The price includes the room and all you can eat. Drinks (Alcohol and Pop, aka Soda
(this is for you Jason)) and daily service charges are not included. I will find out
if there is a drink package and how much it is. (You are very welcome, Hao and Cole!)
I know this is quite early. But this way, all of us can search for airfare sales
and SAVE for the cruise. Also, there are very few cruise sales. The only cruise sales
that I have seen are last minute cruises. As we get closer to the date, we can go into
details about the cruise. I will provide updates with additional information in the future,
once I get them. Please keep in mind that everyone will be booking their own rooms(with their roomies).

I just booked my cruise via Southwest for Carnival. Southwest is having a sale that isnt offered via Carnival. The sale ranges from free upgrades to cabin credit. The sale ends tomorrow (2/28/08). When you call them, they can provide you more details regarding cancellation cost, payment, insurance and so forth.

I just checked out Carnival's website. The price for our cruise dropped a little. For example, the balcony price dropped from $809 to $729.

For those that are going, each person can bring a bottle of wine abroad without any fee. If you choose to drink the wine during dinner, then it is a $10 corkage fee. Any alcohol bought during the duration of the trip will be kept and be return to you on the night before we depart the ship.

We are less than 8 weeks away from paradise!!!!
Most, if not all of you guys should have received an email asking you to complete some personal information, such as passport #, credit card #, etc. If not, please contact your travel agents. The completion of the forms will expedite the sign-in process.
In addition, hopefully all of you have had an opportunity to check out the excursions that is offer at each of the places that we are visiting. The carnival website provides a brief description of all the excursions that is available. You can either purchase the excursion now or later. It is recommended to purchase the excursion as early as possible. Because some of the excursions do have limited availability. And I will repeat once again, it is NOT recommended to purchase excursions that isn't affiliate with the cruise. For if anything happens, they will not provide any assistance to get you back on the cruise if you miss the departure.
As for those who have yet to respond, there is still time to come join us. And for those that decline, we will be thinking about you.
