Prologue

In ancient times things were different, things that people know as myths and legends freely roamed the planet. Such as Werewolves, ghosts, Wizards, and Dragons. All of these are fascinating, and most still exist, but are hidden from human eyes. You may have seen one before, as some can alter their appearance so that they look human. As all could easily be written about, the focus of this story will be dragons. But before this tale of a History long forgotten, a few facts must be explained. Dragons are often perceived to be man eating monsters, and, to be truthful, a few who were a bit "off their rocker" did develop a taste for human flesh. However, the same is truthful in humans. And now for the beginning of dragon-human history.

In the early days of man, dragons were amused with these interesting little creatures. By the time humans had developed a language dragons had taken an extreme liking to the race. Dragons took it upon themselves to learn the language of man and communicate with them. They immediately realized that humans were, to be honest, stupid. But in every culture there are people born a level in intelligence above the rest, and so was the case with Elropian. He was very smart and wise which were the two qualities dragons were looking for in that day. He sought out to find a dragon seeking to learn their wisdom. He came upon a young dragon, which would later come to be the legendary Drichan's father. This dragon lived in a cave, a dark cold wet tiny uncomfortable little cave. Needless to say, for something of such power and intelligence, it did not look like suitable dwellings, and to the dragon it didn't feel suitable either. What was he to do, he was a little scrawny for his race, and as such was "bullied" out of the better homes. At least this was his, he found it on his own and it was quite out of the way of the others. It seemed he would be able to keep it. And he was not going to give it up this time without a fight. And then he spotted a man. At first Drichan's father regarded the man as inferior and was thinking about killing him, but he decided to question the creature about his being there first. "What are you doing here human, are you looking to steal my home too?

"No great dragon, I was looking to learn from one of your kind, would you help me? I do not have much to repay you with, but I shall give all that I have…which I am currently wearing right now.

"HAHAHAHAHA," the dragon bellowed in a deep voice," I have no need for your clothes, nor do I wish to teach you anything. Leave if you know what's good for you."

I cant leave. I have nowhere to go, I might as well just sleep where I am cause I have given up all but what I am wearing now for this quest for knowledge". It turns out that is just what he did, just slept where he was by the dragons cave. Then one day Drichan's Father had gotten severely wounded in a duel with another dragon. The wound should have been fatal, but Elropian was not an ordinary human. He was a wizard, the first wizard. It is said that most wizards discover their powers in a time of panic, Elropian was no different. Drichan's father stood amazed at what he saw as Elropian's hands started to glow golden. Elropian placed his hands on the wound, and the golden mist seemed to hover inside. After a few seconds of this treatment, the dragon's side began to heal. Magically the flesh and scales began to regenerate until he was fully healed. In a tone of awe, Drichan's father asked Elropian, "What manner of human are you, that you can do such things!"

"I don't know," replied Elropian, who was amazed at himself as much as Drichan's father was. Many things happened after that, too numerous to name, but as this tale of history progresses you will learn of some of them.
