TOYS

These are things I have had much fun making. I will have much more fun making them in the future, given that people have been having babies, apparently. Children might like toys.

I also love the idea of continuing with small ones, not just because of the amigurumi craze, but because I get bored or tired doing a large size toy sometimes - and yes it's okay for creativity to be ruled by laziness and boredom, really it is.

Elephant - I made this cute elephant in one weekend for my friend's newborn baby. It is from the June 2001 issue of Crochet World magazine. It was a lot of fun to make and fairly easy. The pattern was actually for Twins, a boy and a girl, but I didn't have time.

Ballerina Bunny The pattern in the August 2001 issue of Crochet World magazine used worsted weight yarn for a 10.5" bunny. I didn't have enough filling and I was in a hurry (no time to shop). I used a 1.00 mm hook and it is approximately 10.5 cm in height (not counting the ears).

Patches the Clown - this 12.5 cm clown is made with thread (size 30?) and 1.00 mm hook. It is from the February 2002 issue of Crochet World magazine. This was a little rough on my fingers, since I had to work small and tight, but I think the end result was worth it. (September 2002)

Trini Bear

I dressed this ready-made bear in a special Trinidad and Tobago outfit, for a friend who was braving the London winter in January 2003. I attached hair to the tam, so click the link to see.
