HOW IT WORKS..... The Disc in the center of the plug starts to turn from Green to Orange very gradually at 42 Deg; C. Although at this temperature, some people may feel comfortable bathing, it is not recommended for a long period of time. The disc is fully Orange at 47 Deg; C, The words "HOT" become very prominent, bathing in this water will result in Scalding !
THE SIMPLE FACTS.. Even brief immersion of the skin above 49 Degrees C will PERMANENTLY damage skin tissue. Immersion of the body, in a bath of hot water (41 1/2 Deg; C) can cause a life threatening condition called Heat Hyperpyrexia when the body temperature rises above its normal 37 Deg; C. Within the 65+ age group, 150 people a year Die, due to Burn/Scald accidents. (Source RoSPA)
