These are from early May, 2003. The garden is now 1.5 years old. This set of pics are of the scree/mound beds. Mostly in 3 beds (out of 30 or so) with most of the plants concentrated on 2 beds at this time.


Here's the one bed on my hillside in the back, in part sun - it measures about 40 by 60. The bed in the back of it is an 80 by 40 mixed perennial bed.
Shaded dry bed under a maple in the front. There's also Spring blooming bulbs that love to be dry on this bed next to the Mound Bed.
My main "mound" with Allium schuberti in bloom.
and Idaho fescue
This is the third bed in full sun where succulents and tulips and other sun lovers live. Lavender also grows here as do dwarf plants that want to be hot.
Here you can see a Spuria Iris (which loves to be high and dry)and Gladiolus byzantinus plus detail of the south side of the bed above.
