Hanna Dorgan was born 1849 in County Cork Ireland.  She came to the US with her mother Mary Ann Mahoney and her siblings, James, Denis and Betsey aboard ship RISING SUN arriving Boston from Liverpool August 11, 1858.  She lived with her parents in Sibley County, MN, and married her husband John H. Lester there in 1869.  Their two daughters Mary A. and Maggie Lester both died as young children, and Hanna herself died just two months before her baby Maggie died.  John H. Lester remarried to Margaret? and raised son Benjamin as well as their own children.   The family shows up on the 1880 Henderson Borough, Sibley Co., MN Federal Census.  At this point in time, Benjamin has one half sister named Eunice who was two years old.  It is not known what became of Benjamin Lester after the 1880 Census.  Please contact me if you have any information about him.

1. JOHN H.² LESTER (BENJAMIN¹) was born May 16, 1848 in Troy, NY, and died May 10, 1931 in Minneapolis MN. He married (1) HANNA DORGAN October 31, 1869 in Jessenland Twp, Sibley Co., MN, daughter of JOHN DORGAN and MARY MAHONEY. She was born 1849 in Ireland, and died June 15, 1876 in Henderson, MN. He married (2) MARGARET 1877. She was born Abt. 1858 in MN.
