Cornelius Dorgan (son of Timothy Dorgan and Abbie Smith born Ireland) and Mary Murphy (aka Mary Smith) lived in Avon, Norfolk Co. MA.  It is unknown when they arrived in MA, but census records from 1880 show that their eldest daughter Hannah was born in MA in 1857.  Cornelius was a shoe maker, and worked at a shoe shop.  The 1880 census shows that daughter Mary Anna also worked at the shoe shop.  The 1900 Census, shows that Cornelius was still a shoe maker, and daughters Hannah, Julia still living at home.  Other sources tell me that daughter Mary Anna Dorgan attended Boston Medical School.  She graduated sometime before 1890 when she married Dr. E. Arthur Dakin, also a student at the same time, and becoming a physician.  They were married in Avon, with sister Julia standing up as witness, then traveled to Boston and then to Nova Scotia, home of the groom for a two week honeymoon. 

They set up a medical practice together, and continued this until a year before Dr. E. Arthur Dakin's death of septicemia in 1911.  His obituary does not mention Dr.  Mary Anna Dorgan Dakin, so it is assumed that the couple were no longer together from about a year before his death - in fact his death certificate states he was divorced.  They had two daughters, Marian and Marjorie who lived in Boston.  Dr. Mary Anna Dakin practiced medicine in various locations in Boston , Magnolia MA and Jamaica until 1940.  It is unknown if she remarried, what became of her two daughters.  She died in 1943.   Any information greatly appreciated.
