Short Hadiths
“The key to heaven is
Salah.”
“Paradise lies at the feet
of your mother.”
“A father’s pleasure is Allah’s pleasure, a father displeasure is Allah’s
displeasure.”
“He is not of us who has a
compassion for our little ones and does not
honour our old ones.”
“No father can give his
child anything better than good manners.”

that man and myself (the
Prophet) will be close in paradise as two adjacent fingers.”
“He who believes in Allah
and the Last Day should honour his guest.”
The needy
“One who tries to help the
widow and the poor is like a warrior in the way of Allah.”
Truthfulness
“Guarantee me six things
and I shall assure you of paradise: When you speak, speak the truth.
Keep your promise.
Discharge your trust. Guard your chastity and lower your gaze and
withhold your hands from
highhandedness.”
“Surely truth leads to
virtue, and virtue leads to paradise.”
Brotherhood
“Each of you is a mirror of
his brother, if you see something wrong in your brother,
you must tell him to get
rid of it.”
“None of you can be a believer
unless he loves for his brother what he
loves for himself.”
“Every good action is a
charity and it is a good action to meet a friend
with a smiling face.”
“Removing from a road that
which is harmful is charity.”
Kindness
“Allah is not kind to him
who is not kind to people.”
“Those who are kind and
considerate to Allah’s creatures, Allah bestows His kindness and affection on
them.
Show kindness to the
creatures on the earth so that Allah may be kind to you.”
Talking
“He who truly believes in
Allah and the last day should speak good or keep silent.”
“He who keeps silent,
remains safe.”
Pride
“If anyone has got an atom
of pride in his heart, he will not enter paradise.”
Eating
“Say Allah’s name
(Bismillah) and eat with your right hand and eat from near you.”
“The blessing of food is to
wash hands at the beginning and washing after taking it.”
Politeness
“Allah is polite and likes
politeness.”
Clothing
“Indeed, he who wears silk in
this world will have no share in it
in the life after death.”
Greeting
“The young should say salam
to the old, the passer-by to the one sitting
and the small group to the
large one.”
“The best way of saying
salam is shaking hands.”
“When one meets his
brother, he should say salam to him.”
Modesty
“Modesty is part of faith.”
Back-biting
“If anyone pledges to me
that he will keep his tongue under control, guard his chastity,
will not speak ill of other
nor indulge in back-bitting and similar sins,
I shall assure him of
paradise.”
Suspicion
“Beware of suspicion, for
suspicion may be based on false information, do not spy on another,
do not disclose others’
hidden defects.”
Jealousy
Keep away from jealousy for
as fire burns wood, so jealousy consumes good actions.”
Anger
“He is not strong who
throws down another, but he is who controls his anger.”
“If anger rouses anyone, he
should sit down and if that does not help, he should lie down.”
Gifts
“Give gifts to one another
for gifts take away malice.”
