Looking for a place to run away and hide? Please, Stay away from Wyoming.

This is where I really came come from! But then again so did Dick Cheney, help keep Wyoming Beautiful, Stay Away! As I said, It is too crowded now. It used to be that you could drive all day and not see another car, Darn. Keep Wyoming Beautiful. What a great place to grow up. Most of it is government and Indian land. I enjoyed traveling up into the mountains with my father, (never enough though). If it had not been for the Viet Nam war I would still be there. I always enjoy going back (never enough). My sister still lives there. I now live in Syracuse, NY. Although my heart is there. I told the kids, 'When I die bury me in Wyoming.' The pictures you see are kind of how I remember it.
If you have any questions, please e-mail me and I will get back to you. If you don't see what you want, or if I don't know, I can ask my sister, she knows everything. I am on the look out for better pictures, I will be adding them as I find better ones. One of the things you will notice when driving through is, how open it is.
Bumper to bumper traffic in Wyoming is that you can see the bumper on the car in front and maybe see the one on the car behind you. The proper following distance in Wyoming is one mile between cars.
There were not all the fences there are today. It is not as open as it was when I left in 1967. But it is much quieter than Syracuse. It seems there are already too many people in Wyoming. The state is blessed with mineral wealth, Oil and Gas. Tell those in the middle east to eat sand! Pumping oil from Wyoming brings in money that is spent in the state, and in taxes in the state, not shipped out of the country. Some times it is nice to get away and commune with God. This is the place to do it. Steve

Some time the snow gets deep!
Be careful when you decide to camp out.

Be careful where you step!

There is precious little water, so God had to make the best of it.     Horses    Mountains

You can still eat the fish and drink the water.

Welcome to my site. The west is wonderful. However as great as it is, our government has been traditionally made up of people that were often not nice.

"The white man, who possesses this whole vast country from sea to sea, who roams over it at pleasure and lives where he likes, cannot know the cramp we feel in this little spot, with the underlying remembrance of the fact, which you know as well as we, that every foot of what you proudly call America not very long ago belonged to the red man.
The Great Spirit gave it to us. There was room for all His many tribes, and all were happy in their freedom."
"The white man's government promised that if we, the Shoshones, would be content with the little patch allowed us, it would keep us well supplied with everything necessary to comfortable living,
and would see that no white man should cross our borders for our game or anything that is ours. But it has not kept its word!
The white man kills our game, captures our furs, and sometimes feeds his herds upon our meadows. And your great and mighty government--oh sir, I hesitate, for I cannot tell the half!
It does not protect our rights. It leaves us without the promised seed, without tools for cultivating the land, without implements for harvesting our crops, without breeding animals better than ours, without the food we still lack, after all we can do, without the many comforts we cannot produce, without the schools we so much need for our children." "I say again, the government does not keep its word!"
--Chief Waskakie

Wahsh'-uh-kee

Perhaps Washington should listen to the old leader of the Shoshones before it goes off to war again. Too late! They never listen to the people. Making promises, perhaps we should concentrate on keeping the promises to our people first.

Key Benefits

Benefit 1 Wyoming has the cleanest air in the United States.
Benefit 2 Wyoming has the fewest people in the United States.
Benefit 3 Anything you want to do is only a short 8 hour drive from here (maybe longer).

Why did you leave I am often asked, and other than the Viet Nam War, it was To keep it pure!

Steve

When I joined the Navy, I did have the pleasure to serve here for a while. It is a shame what Congress has done to our Navy.
