I have been researching my family for over 20 years now, and since I have gone online 2 years ago, it has rapidly accelerated to fast forward. I have found cousins that I didn't know existed as well as located some that I had lost track of. It has been a very rewarding experience as I am sure many of you will agree.
In my early research, I neglected to site my sources, and have been trying since then to recover those missing important links to the authenticity of my research. In my notes, I have given credit to where credit was due, to those have furnished additional info other than my own research. I include email addresses, web sites etc. when available.
If you find broken links, etc. please notify me via the email link below.

WILLIS FAMILY TREES

WILLIS FAMILY RESEARCH CENTER

The above sites are sites that have been set up by individuals for ALL Willis researchers to try to find or eliminate a Willis line. Please submit your data to help make the research complete.

I use Family Tree Maker to organize my root/twig/branches files. It is also a great program to organize and publish your own book.

Family Pedigree Chart #1
This is a chart I did myself with the help of the generousity of a fellow researcher.

My family all migrated mainly into Gallatin and Hardin Counties in Illinois in the early 1800's. The Willis family came from Rowan Co. NC. The Black family is not proven yet, but also believe they also are from NC or SC.

SURNAMES:

WILLIS and allied families:
ALLEN - JOHNSON - BROWN - ATKINSON - WISEMAN - MYERS/MIERS/MIRES

BLACK and allied families:
BRINKLEY - GENTRY - TALBOTT - LAVENDER - SHOEMAKER - BLAIR - STETSON
