WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT:

ABORTION

ABORTION:

(Webster's def.)

The expulsion of an embryo or a fetus that is not "normally" able to live outside the womb.

Acts 17:28

For in Him we live, and move, and have our being....for we are also His offspring.

(we all are the offspring of God...His creation...even the fetus)

Rom. 14:12

So then every one of us will give account of himself to God.

(No matter if we have not seen the fetus... the fleshly tissue... all will answer to God, who sin by taking a life.)

I John 3:15

Whosoever who hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

(our unborn child is also our "brother" in God's eyes.)

Psalms 36:9

For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

(a life, a human life is within you! You can cause that light to be snuffed out... they, (the babies) will never see light)

Psalms 139:13 - 16

For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

(the embryo speaks...and acknowledges the God who created it)

Gen. 9:6

Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

(we are made in the image of God... a holy thing - Luke 2:23)

Exod. 20:13

Thou shalt not kill.

(one of the ten commandments of God!)

Job 10:11

Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews.

(our eternal spirit is clothed with this covering)

Psa 127:3

Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

(sounds like children are important and precious to the Lord)

Jer. 1:5

Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee; and before thou camest out of the womb I sanctified thee, and ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

(God has a plan for every one of us, including our unborn in the womb)

Isa. 44:24

Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;

Isa. 49:1

...The Lord hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.

(awesome to realize the Lord of heaven is aware of my presence in my mother's womb and knows my name!))

Isa. 49:5

...And now, saith the Lord that formed me from the womb to be his servant....

(we have a purpose in life, we are all called to be servants of the Lord!)

SCRIPTURE SURROUNDING BIRTH OF JESUS

Luke 1:39-44

And it came to pass, that , when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb: and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost.....And she spoke with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.

(Elisabeth, Mary's cousin is prophesying after hearing of Mary's salutation. Her child, (John the Baptist) leaped in her womb! An unborn child rejoiced over the conception of another child yet unborn! Far out, huh? Sounds like this was some very important earth shaking news that even the unborn leaps in the womb. Every child, unborn or not is important, and has a destiny ordained by God. Some ordinary, some extra ordinary, but all precious.)

It's a good thing abortion was not considered in Mary's day. She, being an unwed mother, could possibly have considered aborting the very Savior of the World. This one fatal decision could have altered the salvation of all mankind. Just one fetus, one blob of tissue, could of made that kind of impact?! YES!

This one child influenced the world so much that the calendars are divided at His birth... B.C. & A.D. ...all nations of the world observe this.

MORE FROM THE WORD:

From the beginning, according to the Bible, when a "deliverer" came on the scene... babies were killed:

Moses: Exodus 1-3 Ex 1:16 "And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, than she shall live."

Jesus: First coming: Matt. 2:16 - 18 (babies killed)

Jesus: Second coming: Today! Abortions! (babies killed)

11 Samuel 12:23 (David, at the death of his child by Bathsheba)

...I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.

Prov. 6:16-19

These 6 things doth the Lord hate.... even abomination to Him...hands that shed innocent blood.

Ex. 21:22-23

The law of men striving and injuring a woman with child. "A life for a life"
