Life began for me at the tender age of 13, when I got my first horse, a young stud colt who taught me everything I really needed to know about horses. He was my only teacher for a long time, I was raised in the city and had no horse experience and we purchased a farm near Floodwood, where there were NO horse people around to turn to.  Well, I could write a book about growing up with my horse, but I'm sure you are not all that interested so I'll wait for someday to write that much!
Snoopy was the sorriest looking excuse for a colt one ever saw, but to my 13 yr old eyes, he was perfect. Mom could afford the $100 price tag, I wanted a black horse (and he was THEN), and we had just closed on the farm that week. They threw in a filly for another $50 and mom felt sorry for Didget and we took her home too. Can't have just one you know, it might get lonely of course.  We got them home, now I look at these pics and see worms, babies, and a friend & I who know nothing of these new pets.  They did produce a foal the next year, I was not present (we still lived in Minneapolis), and I lost that one. Never lost another from birthing since, as I've never left one unattended that I bred. But I was just a kid, and dad wouldn't bring me back up to tend to my baby tho I begged.
Well, a lot's happened since those days, now I still have and love horses more than anything else in this life, I've gone thru Gastric Bypass and have a whole new life ahead of me and thank my Lord for all I've been given! Not many have a second chance at living, you'll see pics of me at 325lbs, and now at a much healther 170 or so, and still working on getting to my goal of 150 someday. I love photography, fishing, hiking, working on saddles & harnesses for repair, reading, sewing, crafty stuff. I train my own horses now, to ride and drive, and I love them best. I've pulled the girls from their dams, so they are really special to me. I have a lot of horse friends, a husband who puts up with it all, a daughter and son-in-law that loves them too, and a son that lives in the nicest vacation spot on earth: Hawaii!  I'm pretty content with what I've got, and even tho I might not have a dishwasher, I'm blessed with HORSES!
