| Upcoming SADD events for the 2000/2001 school year |
| *Every month this year, the members of SADD are planning a different demonstration for BHS students, to stress the importance of making wise decisions. *April is the official SADD month, so we will have many activities and presentations happening in the spring. *SADD is planning a mock drunk driving accident this year. This event will take place in April, before the Prom, to remind seniors and other prom-goers of the consequences of drinking and driving. *Some time in the next month, SADD is planning an "Angel of Death" demonstration in Barnstable High School. Every 32 minutes, someone is killed by a drunk driver. To illustrate this statistic, a different, pre-selected student will be visited by the angel of death every 32 minutes. This student will essentially be "dead" for the entire day, and not be allowed to talk, or participate in any of the days activities. The hope from this demonstration is to futher illustrate the dangers of drunk driving. *Coming up in April: Mr. BHS! 10 seniors will compete for the title of Mr. Barnstable. Judging criteria ranges from "Best Legs" to "Formal Wear" to "Swim Wear" to a talent portion. Coming soon: Announcement of judges and contestants... Stay tuned! |
