Frozen Dreams
Chapter 1- A Frozen Calling
The rain outside was shattering against the window like frozen ice crystals. It was late at night and all was quiet in the house. Utako was looking out the window into the frozen-like rain. Her brunette hair was dangling down her face as she stared into the night. She was thinking about everything that had happened over the years with her friends that she lived with. Something was not right in the house, and she hated being alone when it rained. She always felt sad when it rained, all the time. She couldn't explain why, it was just something strange. But it would pass her and she would move on to doing something else.
Utako got up off the couch and stared at the living room. One couch against the wall, televison on the opposite side. On the far wall was a closet with blue doors and small stairs to the right leading to the bedroom hall. The room gave an eerie blue glow when it got dark out. Utako was afraid of this house, but she would feel much safer when her friends got home. She lived with 7 of her best friends, Kiku, Ekeko, Tewo, Ishifu, Oremu, Tewon, and Kisohen. Seven years ago, all of their parents mysteriously dissapeared one year after they went camping up in the north. So they decided to pull all their money together to buy this huge house. Most of them were about 19 and 20, so they all had jobs now.
There were many rooms the have never been in, but Utako was so afraid to explore, she thought something would jump out at her. She loved watching horror movies, mostly ones that deal with the supernatural and her favorite holiday was Halloween. So as you can tell, she loved scary stuff, but she didn't know why if they scared her all the time. But, she would get over it and just laugh it off. Utako wanted to see a real ghost for once and confront her fears. But right now, she was too depressed and worried alot about having no boyfriend and life and such.
Utako got worried about her friends now, they've been gone a long time. She slumped down onto the couch and stared at the TV, looking at herself through the reflection. "Come on Sadako, come out and get me." Utako said to herself and rolled her eyes. "What the Hell? I must be crazy to think that Sadako would actually be my friend, ha!" Suddenly, the TV flashed for a second. Utako rubbed her eyes in disbelief. "What the? I must be dreaming, Sadako isn't real." Utako grabbed the remote and tried to turn the TV on, but the batteries had died out. "Damn you remote!" She shivered and threw the remote on the floor. Utako looked up the stairs to the left, leading up to the bedrooms. The doors to the kitchen were closed, right beside the stairs. The eerie blue glow was making Utako feel uncomfortable. "This is rediculous." She stood up as the TV turned to static. Her eyes darted at the TV and she got goosebumps. Her mouth opened and she slowly sat back on the couch. She was beginning to freak out now. Utako studied the static on the TV, the sound was down, so she couldn't hear anything. She put her legs up to her chest, resting her head on her knees. "Guys, where are you?" Just then, she heard something upstairs. She remember the movie The Grudge she saw two weeks ago with Oremu. "Why don't you come down the stairs then Kayako, I dare you." Utako whispered to herself. She heard a thud and the moving of what seemed to be was a plastic bag. She turned back to the TV, shivering now. She looked at the
static, trying to get her mind off the sound that came from upstairs. As she looked at the static, she could almost see the well from The Ring, another scary movie she had seen with her best friend Kiku. It became more clear the longer she stared at it. "The Hell..." Utako shoved back a bit on the couch and darted back and forth between the stairs and the TV. The static on the TV took form of the well, and the volume on the TV turned up. The high pitched static filled the room and Utako's eyes widened as she looked back again at the stairs. Her fears were becoming true, and was starting to believe that this might be real and not a dream! Staring closely at the top of the stairs, she saw Kayako's head move and snap. Utako did not know what to do, she just watched as Kayako made her way down the small stairs. The sound of cracking bones and the bloody figure of this woman with long black hair, crawled down the stairs made Utako almost scream, but she couldn't. Her mouth opened wide but nothing came out of her, she was stunned out of fear. Kayako crawled along the floor towards Utako, dragging her bloody legs behind her. Utako slowly moved along the couch away from Kayako. Kayako's head snapped up making that horrible sound, like burping. Utako looked again at the TV, and saw Sadako walking out of the well like she always does. Still moving to the corner of the couch, she saw Sadako make her way out of the TV. Sadako's black hair seeped out of the TV, dripping wet. Her charred, wet hands grabbed the floor and pulled her way out of the TV. Her white dress was soaking with well water as she crawled on her hands and knees towards Utako, leaving a trail of the water behind her. "No... Why me?" Utako quietly said as she turned to look out the window behind her. It was still raining outside and the lights started flickering on and off. One moment of darkness came, and all was suddenly quiet. Utako wondered what had happend and she waited for something to happen in the pitch black. She couldn't even hear the rain outside... All was still quiet, but Utako couldn't figure out what was going on. Was it really a bad dream?
Suddenly, the lights turned back on and staring at her from behind the couch was Toshio, the cat kid demon. Utako fell backwards onto her back on the couch. She looked to her left and saw Kayako staring right at her and screamed. She looked back at Toshio and saw Sadako standing behind him. Utako put an arm up to her face to avoid from seeing Sadako's evil eye. Sadako looked up, but Utako couldn't see her face, instead she saw Toshio meowing at her. Utako's vision turned blurry and saw Kiku come in the front door to the left. Kiku was just standing there, and didn't even look at Utako. Utako's ears were ringing and couldn't hear anything anymore. Nothing, but silence and darkness... All was dark...
