There was a time in this city when shows like this seemed to come every month or two. At this point I can't even remember the last show with a major touring punk act, maybe the Upstarts or something. I think now that there is no longer Bojangles or that crappy out of town Big Shots(and it's even shittier complaining nieghbors) there are hardly any places left to put on shows of this scale. Not that the Colonial is an improvement, but I guess it works, it's OK. BUT I MISS BOJANGLES!!!!Anyways ...the first time I saw Dropkicks was in an abandoned house in Rio Linda that smelled like cat piss.Everyone called it the "Cat Piss" house". It was cool. I think I've seen them a million times after that here(every show except when I was in jail) and in other cities(SF,Chico)and they ALWAYS PUT ON AN AWESOME SHOW. For real. This time was no exception. The live show is the way to go with these guys, not that the albums suck or anything- but the stage is where they shine.Good stuff! We got there at 7:30 thinking we would be early, but we got there and Tiger Army was already close to ending their set. What I heard sounded pretty fucking awesome.Next up was Sick Of It All who rocked the fuck out of everything. Especially awesome was the wall of death, where everyone stood on opposite ends of the room and ran twards each other in the pit, Braveheart style. Talk about crowd participation! And then of course were the Dropkicks, who we already established put on awesome show. I usually don't like the colonial but it was jumpin'.....but where the fuck are all these kids for just regular local punk shows? People need to put it down as a way of life and start supporting the scene! -B. Chuck

ANOTHER 2 DAYS WITH THE HUDSON FALCONS
For those who have not yet heard of the Hudson Falcons (seems impossiible) they are on an almost non stop tour of the United States. They play great Streetpunk/Rock n' Roll and are great people. Both of these are shows we (Whiskey Rebels) played as well. The first one was at the Capitol Garage in Sacramento, and the line-up was as follows: Hanover Saints, Whiskey Rebels, Hudson Falcons, and Pressure Point. Despite the fact that it was a Tuesday and there were two other rather large shows that night, the show went well and the Cap Garage was packed! Hanover Saints started the evening off with a kick ass set of hardcore/oi!. It was their second to last show before they go on a nationwide tour. If they play as good as usual I'm sure they'll do fine. Good job warming up the crowd for us! Next up was the Whiskey Rebels. Since I sing in that band I won't really talk about us, I'll only tell that their singer is incredibly handsome. Hudson Falcons were up next and they played quite an inspiring set. They played their usual set of kick ass working class anthems, and debuted (at least for me anyways) a new song called rich kids can't play rock n' roll which I liked alot. Pressure Point came on next and hey what can I say...Pressure Point always tears it up! Especially here in Sac. At this point I noticed just how many people had showed up. People were piling up on top of each other to sing along. Well that night went well! Whiskey Rebels got invited to play the show on Thursday night at Kimo's in San Francisco. That show had a smaller attendance, but still had a few enthusiastic people. On the bill was us, Intrepid AAF, Subincision, and Hudson Falcons. We started

| a little late due to technical problems and the fact that it is impossible to find a parking spot. We had a good time and got our shit together and played a good set. Subincision was a really good catchy band, I enjoyed thier songs alot. Up next is the always amusing and terrifiying Intrepid AAF. This was thier second to last show, and they tore it up for everyone and set it off for thier fans as usual. Sorry to see them go! Next up was the headlining band, the Hudson Falcons who, just as they did 2 nights earlier. There was not a particularly large crowd on this night but everyone one in attendance was wildly enthusiastic, about the entire show. Once again the Hudson Falcons played an awesome set that was a joy to witness. The funniest part of the evening was when the Whiskey Rebels were having some equipment trouble at first and were running a little late, this guy came up and was all " You guys are taking an awful long time for a band that wasn't even sopposed to be on this show!" and the man was wearing heels on his boots and a short shirt and had permed hair! | HANOVER SAINTS,EXTRA STOUT AND FORGOTTEN TRADITIONS |
Well it seems like I had not been over to West Coast Worldwide for awhile, so you know I had to keep it real and go check out this show. Besides the Hanovor Saints kick ass, and I had only seen Extra Stout once (I have to see them to make sure Brandonista is really in the band.) Forgotton Traditions started out the show and sounded pretty good once they got over thier technical difficulties. Up next was Extra Stout, who play Oi! with a real hardcore edge. Thier set kicked ass but I think they need to shorten the set a little. You wanna leave people wanting more fellas! They will doing big things though, they were really good. Hanover Saints also play Streetpunk in a hardcore vien, and I've been listening to their new cd like everyday. They played an awesome set .They get better everytime I see them but maybe it's just because I am learning all the words! Anyways it was a pretty good night of music. Late!
