I walk into the edge of the woods, the forest floor softly cushions my feet. As I walk deeper into the heart of the forest I hear the songs of birds, mingled with the activity of forest life. My nose is filled with the tang of sweet pine and the forest mould.

Finally I come to the tall tree in the heart of the forest. At the trees feet I drop my sack full of worldly problems. I leave behind my shoes as I climb unburdened up, up, to the top of the tree. Here I enter my sheltered little house. I feel the strong smooth wood of the floor beneath my bare feet. I realize that I am pleasantly tired from my climb, so I sink into the softness of a pile of cushions. I close my eyes and hear the whisper of the breeze in the leaves around me. As I relax all the tension flows out of my body, and the birdsong gently soothes me. I lay nestled in the soft pillows, supported by my little house, surrounded by my protective tree. I open my eyes and see that Pearl my serene faerie and Demerol my protective cat have come to me. Together we sit quietly listening to the birdsong and the fluttering of the leaves. Soon a gentle Light dances through the leaves overhead. The Light forms into the Goddess and encircles me. I know that I am safe and loved. Demerol purrs and my serene faerie flits into the light filling the air with her sweet faerie song. I feel refreshed and at peace. When I am ready the Light withdraws, with the promise to return when I need her.

It is time for me to return to the other-world. I give Demerol a final pat and Pearl and I exchange faerie kisses. I look to where the Goddess was and I whisper a thank you as I descend back to the other-world.
