You have entered... the Who Files! This is the top secret domain where Friday, February 13th, 2004 Thursday, March 18th, 2004 Friday, April 9th, 2004 Saturday, May 1st, 2004
you'll find out everything you ever wanted to know about the
Cindy Loo Whos: what they're doing right now, what they're doing in
the very near future, and what they've done in the not-too-distant past.
Think of it as kind of a newspaper, only cooler. And now, the Who Files:
off the record, on the QT, and very hush-hush!
Tonight the Cindy Loo Whos played at a surprise sixteenth birthday
party for our friend, Ariela. Ariela, besides being the most kick-ass person
you will ever meet, is also our first, best, and only roadie. So we kicked off
the night by playing the birthday song, Cindy Loo Who style, when Ariela
walked in the door. Scared the crap out of her, we did. It was a good time,
all things considered and there was a camera floating around taking pictures
of the band jamming in Jocelyn's living room, so those will be posted here
soon. By soon I mean eventually. By eventually I mean keep your fingers
crossed. But I digress. We played through almost our full set, including
covers: "Should I Stay or Should I Go" by the Clash (who are a sprinkler of
coolness); "I Will Follow" by U2; and "Gigantic" by the Pixies, which is our
newest cover. People must think the Cindy Loo Whos are sponsored by
Chrysler or something, since every time we play a gig we haul the drums and
amps around in a pair of Jeep Cherokees (Jess' is red and Farah's is navy blue.
We match! How cute.) On the way home Jess and Julia sang the beginnings of
a new song to be titled "Angerfied." And that's all for now! We'd like to
thank Julia's friend's dad for the use of his amp for the microphone.
This was opening night for "Anything Goes," performed at HBHS by the
HBHS theater department. Why, you ask, is this so special? Because
all four Cindy Loo Whos, plus roadie were acting in the show! Pictures
of the band in costume can be seen on our lovely little photo page. Aren't
we adorable? And how about that 1930's hair? Anywho, we all had a great
time, and since Jess is lazy and happens to be writing this two weeks after the
fact, we miss the show very much. However, since the play is no longer eating
our lives, we are free to write more songs, learn more covers, and play
more gigs! And there was much rejoicing. But in more important news, in less
that five days the Cindy Loo Whos will be recording their long-awaited first
album at the prestigious, high class recording studio known as Dan's
Basement. We'll let you know how that goes...
It has begun. (Insert dramatic music here.) That's right, the Cindy Loo Whos started
recording their first CD today. It was a day in history. After several hours of
long, grueling recording we've got one in the can! We decided to record
"Customer Service" first because not only is it jazzy and cool, but it's our longest, first,
and hardest song. And it's done! And there was much rejoicing! Recording isn't
as bad as I've made it sound, though. We actually had a lot of fun hanging out
with Dan and messing around with the equipment. And plowing our way through
a large pizza, but it was all good. Jess is a technological Neanderthal, which is the
only reason that sound clips from the recording session aren't on the site yet.
Don't worry, she'll figure it out... eventually.
The Cindy Loo Whos had a gig today! Yes, we were
playing a Bar Mitzvah and as you can imagine,
it was quite an amusing time. It was the first
gig where we actually passed out fliers for the
band and successfully fit all of our
equipment in both jeeps without too much
mayhem. The details... well, it was a Bar Mitzvah!
What more can I say? The folks there
mentioned something about hiring us for another
thing there at the Temple. We'll see how
that turns out. And as you might have
noticed, the Who Files are getting a little back-logged.
Blame Jess- I mean, the trained monkeys who are supposed
to be updating the website. (cracks whip)
Bad trained monkeys! Get to work! The trained
monkeys have promised to have the website
updated by the weekend. But you know
trained monkeys and promises...
